Function documentationThe Overview View of the KPI Catalog

The KPI catalog contains a multitude of aids that enable you to find the KPIs required for your work fast and effectively. For this, you can navigate between the various views, search for terms, and filter the displayed KPIs by various properties.

After the KPI catalog has been called, the overview view is displayed initially. This screen consists of the following elements:

  • Search field

You can search for any character strings in the KPI catalog; it is not necessary to use wildcards. The search uses a fuzzy search so that terms can also be found if there are minor variations, for example, spelling mistakes. The relevance of the results depends on the number of hits and where the search term is found; for example, the title is of more relevance than the text on the individual tabs. To delete the search settings, choose the Reset icon to the right of the active search term.

  • Navigation bar

A KPI is characterized and grouped by its values that it has for various properties. Various, particularly important properties and their values that are found in the KPIs of the KPI catalog are displayed in the navigation bar. You can filter the displayed KPIs by the values of these properties; active filters are displayed using the highlighted Reset icon to the right of the respective property. The following navigation-relevant properties exist, which are displayed in the navigation bar to the left of the screen:

    Attribute

    Description

    Application Area

The application area specifies the business function within an organization.

    Example Example

Examples of application areas are Controlling, Marketing, or Sales.

    End of the example.

    Corporate Goal Area

The corporate goal area specifies what is to be achieved or optimized using the KPI.

    KPI Category

The KPI category specifies what the KPI measures, for example, throughput or availability.

    End-to-End Process

The end-to-end process groups all steps of a specific business process across the involved organizational units, for example, "purchase order to receipt of payment".

    Industry Solution

The industry solution specifies the economic sector of the KPI.

    Product

The product specifies the SAP product of the KPI.

    Analysis Tool

The analysis tool specifies the application that generates the KPI.

    New/Updated

New and changed KPIs receive the indicator New or Updated for 100 days, which you can use for filtering purposes in the overview view.

    Used in My Landscape

The user with which you are logged on to the KPI catalog is linked to your SAP customer number and thereby to the system landscape of your enterprise. In turn, in your system landscape, applications that use the KPIs from the KPI catalog report this usage to the KPI catalog.

Select the Used in My Landscape indicator to filter by the KPIs that are configured for use in your system landscape.

  • Number of Suitable KPIs

Above the list of displayed KPIs and to the left, this field displays the number of KPIs that meet the search conditions.

  • Sort criterion

You use the sort criterion to the right above the list of displayed KPIs to specify the sequence in which these KPIs are displayed. The criteria Name (A-Z) and Rating are self-explanatory.

The Relevance criterion is only significant when using the search function. The KPIs are thereby arranged by the significance that the search term has in the KPI entry. KPIs that have the search term repeated or in the title are of more relevance.

  • Rating

You can rate the KPIs by their use to you; you do this in the detail view of a KPI in the KPI catalog. The previous average rating of the KPI from all users is displayed with the number of ratings in the list of KPIs.

  • List of KPIs

All KPIs that meet the current filter and search settings are displayed in a list. To display all information stored for the KPI in the KPI catalog, switch to the detail view of the KPI. For this, select the desired KPI in the list. Information about the detail view of a KPI is also under Detail View of a KPI in the KPI Catalog.
