Use of the standard model is advisable if lockout/tagout is of primary importance and other safety measures , such as radiation protection, safety in the workplace, and fire protection, play a less significant role.

Note the following assignment rules:
A work clearance application can be assigned to several orders. However, an order can only be assigned to one work clearance application. (Assignment rule R1)
A work clearance application can be assigned to several Operational WCDs, and vice versa. (Assignment rule R2)
