 Weighting Definition

Use

You can use Business Warehouse (SAP BW) functions to weight relationships and assignments and determine the level of readiness of a force element based on these weightings. For more information, see Determination of Readiness Using Weighting .

Integration

You can also map the readiness of a force element manually independent of the functions described here (see Readiness ).

Prerequisites

In Customizing under Start of the navigation path Defense Forces& Public Security Next navigation step Organizational Flexibility Next navigation step Force Element Next navigation step Settings for Calculating Readiness, you have defined the End of the navigation path standard weighting factor as the default value.

Note Note

You can also use this standard weighting factor as the default value for all non-weighted relationships or assignments in calculations using the Business Warehouse . This enables you to significantly reduce the effort involved in defining weightings, since you only have to explicitly weight those relationships or assignments with a weighting that deviates from the standard weighting factor.

End of the note.

Features

You have to define corresponding weightings so that the system can calculate the readiness:

  • You can define weightings for relationships between force elements, between force elements and positions, and between jobs or positions and qualifications.

The system stores the values in infotype 1988 .

  • You can define weightings for assignments that you use to map the authorized material of force elements, positions, or jobs.

The values are stored in the corresponding tables of the FORCER framework .

Activities

Relationship Weighting

You are in edit mode of the Structures Workbench and have selected an organizational measure if required.

  1. Choose the Operational Weighting tab page for the required object.

  2. Choose Create Weighting Factor .

  3. Enter the required weighting.

    • Specify the validity period.

    • In the Subtype field, select the required relationship type. The relationship types defined in Customizing are available.

    • Select the linked object using the Object Type and Object ID fields. You can use the Lower-Level Objects pushbutton to display existing relationships that can be weighted.

      Note Note

You can also weight relationships that do not exist . For example, you can take missing or future relationships into account when calculating readiness, depending on the evaluation method you are using for weightings.

      End of the note.
    • In the Weighting F actor field, enter the required factor. The system displays a default value if one is defined in Customizing. If necessary, also specify that the relationship is mandatory .

  4. Save your changes.

The data is saved in Planned status. The status is changed through the approval process for the object.

You can use the Change Weighting Factor pushbutton to change the specified value for selected entries (multiple selection possible). You can also change the Mandatory indicator for all selected entries if required.

Assignment Weighting

You weight assignments of material planning objects and material containers to force elements, positions, or jobs in the Weighting field on the relevant tab page for editing assignments. You can also mark an assignment as mandatory . For information about editing these assignments, see Assigning Material and Infrastructure Objects .
