Configuring the DATEV FI Interface
You must make a number of DATEV-specific settings before you can use the DATEV FI interface to export data or display user reports.
To access the entry screen for the DATEV FI interface, choose DATEV Settings on the Accounting Data tab in .
Note
After the DATEV FI interface is installed, the DATEV Settings button appears at the bottom left-hand section of the Accounting Data tab in addition to the standard fields.
Make the required master data enhancements here:
Number and name of the tax consultant responsible (seven characters maximum) You can ask your tax consultant for this information.
Five-digit DATEV client number. You can ask your tax consultant for the client number.
Two-digit DFV indicator: this entry ID code can be used later to determine who entered specific data. This is a user-defined code.
Example
You may enter your initials.
General ledger account length: you can enter values between 4...8. The default length is 4 digits.
Note
DATEV has provided the ANE (account number enhancement) procedure since August 2000. This procedure can be used to transfer general ledger account numbers with up to 8 digits and subledger account numbers with up to 9 digits. The procedure can also be used to transfer longer document numbers (up to 12 digits). General ledger account numbers are always one number shorter than subledger account numbers. Example using the following account information:
General ledgers: 1000 – 9999
Customers: 10000 – 69999
Vendors: 70000 – 99999
The customer and vendor account number are transferred 1:1.
Interim account: specify the interim account to be used for balancing an m:n relationship. The account number can have between 4 and 8 digits. The highest possible general ledger account number is always entered as the default value.
Example
9999
Note
In SAP Business One, you can manage m:n posting records. In the case of an m:n posting, the debit and credit sides of at least two accounts are addressed, therefore a posting record contains at least four accounts. In DATEV, however, only 1:n or n:1 postings can be transferred. Nevertheless, to export m:n posting records, you can define an interim account which can be used to represent m:n postings in technical and accounting terms. This account is not used as an active account for traditional postings.
Example of an m:n relationship
Export path: enter the export path to which the DATEV export file is to be saved. The user can decide where to save the export file, e.g. on the C drive.
Caution
For any path you enter manually, check that the path actually exists. If you fail to do so, the system displays an error message informing you that you should check the basic settings during the data export.
Before you perform a DATEV export, you should check whether the DATEV-specific tax codes are assigned to the right tax codes from SAP Business One. Choose the Tax Codes button to check the DATEV tax code assignment.
To save your entries, choose Update.
You have entered the master data required and can now make additional settings.
