Permissions iView  

Use

You use the Permissions iView to check the security settings of repositories, as well as to check and set permissions and service permissions for folders.

You can use it to restrict the initial permissions that are valid directly after installation.

 

Features

This iView is based on the KM Navigation iView template and lists all repositories configured in KM and their folders and documents.

 

In the tree view, icons display whether a security manager is configured for the repository (see Security Managers).

Icons for Security Managers

Icon	Description
	An ACL-based security manager such as the ACL Security Manager is configured in the repository manager.
	A non-ACL-based security manager such as the BW security manager for documents and metadata is configured in the repository manager.
	No security manager is configured.

 

In the list view, additional icons indicate whether a folder or document inherits the permissions and service permissions of the superordinate folder, or has its own permissions and service permissions that differ from the superordinate folder.

Icons for Permissions and Service Permissions

Icon	Description
	The folder has its own permissions. You cannot change the permissions.
	The permissions of the folder are inherited from the superordinate folder. You cannot change the permissions.
	The folder has its own permissions. You are a permission owner and are allowed to change the permissions.
	The permissions of the folder are inherited from the superordinate folder. You are a permission owner and are allowed to change the permissions.
	Separate service permissions have been configured for the folder.
	Service permissions have been configured for the folder. You are a permission owner and are allowed to change the service permissions.

 

Activities

In the portal, to launch the iView, choose Content Administration ® KM Content. In the detailed navigation, choose Toolbox ® Permissions. To set permissions, choose the Details link for the repository or folder in question.

If separate permissions or service permissions have already been set, you can display them by clicking the relevant icon next to the object in question. This opens a new window where you can display or change the permissions or service permissions.

The display in this window corresponds to the screen area displayed when you choose Settings ® Permissions or Settings ® Service Permissions in the Details dialog box of a folder.
