Permissions (For the Item Itself) 

Use

Permissions define which users can create, change, display, and delete items in KM repositories.

 

Prerequisites

You need read permission for the item in question in order to display its permissions.

You must be entered in the permission owners list in order to change the permissions.

 

Features

The configuration of the repository dictates whether you can set the permissions in SAP Enterprise Portal.

By default, you can set the following permissions:

Permissions for items in KM repositories (ACL security manager)

Permission	Description
Read	Display item
Write	Change item (includes creating sub items for folders) This permission only includes write access, not read access.
Read/Write	Display and change item
Delete	Delete item
Full Access	Incorporates all other permissions

 

If you are using the permissions of an NTFS file system, you can only set the permissions in the file system. SAP Enterprise Portal can only display them. For more information, see Security Managers.

 

Activities

To set the permissions for an item, choose Settings ® Permissions from the Details dialog box.
