SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search supports searches for data that are stored in an SAP Portal in the SAP Knowledge Management (SAP KM) application. In order to display search results from the KM system on the Search UI, you must create a connection to the KM system and specify the index used.

SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search accesses the search indexes that have already been built in SAP NetWeaver Knowledge Management, accessing KM's Web service APIs.

Note Note

The system supports searches for KM standard properties and user-defined properties.

In the event of a search query from the basic Search UI, the title (KM property DISPLAYNAME) and the content of the KM documents are searched. Use the advanced search to search other specific KM properties.

End of the note.

Prerequisites

  • SAP Portal with SAP Knowledge Management on SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) SPS 12 or later

  • SSO is configured between SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search and the KM system.

  • KM is connected to Search and Classification and the relevant repositories have been indexed.

  • Host name and port number of the KM system on which the index to be made available in SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search is stored

  • User name and password for a service user in the KM system that is to be used for searching. In this case, there is no authorization check. Alternatively, you can use logon tickets.

  • ID of the index that exists in the KM system and that you want to make available for searching
