To be able to obtain search results from Knowledge Management (KM), the KM content must be indexed and made available for SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search.

Prerequisites

KM is connected to Search and Classification (TREX).

Procedure

Preparing KM Content
  1. Launch the portal and in the KM configuration, create a KM repository for the content that you want to be able to search through using an index in SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search.

  2. Create an index for the repository.

    Make a note of the index ID, you need this ID when creating a KM search object connector.

  3. Assign the repository to the index.

Preparing the KM System
  • Enable KM for SSO.

    The KM system must accept logon tickets from SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search.

    You can also configure KM so that the search is carried out using a service user, but in this case no authority check is performed for the search results.

  • Check whether or not a fully-qualified URL is entered in the Host parameter in the KM URL generation service. If not, specify the host URL in fully-qualified form.
