Use

After installation, and before manual configuration, you can run the configuration wizard to initially set up your ES Repository.

Note

Only run the configuration wizard directly after installation. If you have modified your ES Repository already, or if you have upgraded from an older release, do not use the configuration wizard. Instead, use the manual steps as required.

Prerequisites

If you choose to use a local System Landscape Directory (SLD), you must already have executed the initial setup of the local SLD. More information: Wizard-Based Configuration for SLD.

Procedure

To carry out the wizard-based initial setup for the ES Repository, perform the following steps:

       1.      Start your SAP NetWeaver Administrator at http://<host>:<httpport>/nwa.

       2.      Choose Configuration Management àScenarios àConfiguration Wizard

       3.      Choose All Configuration Tasks.

       4.      In the task list, select Configuration of ESR in CE.

       5.      Choose Start.

       6.      Enter the administrator password for your AS Java if required and choose Next.

       7.      Specify whether you want to use an existing remote SLD or set up a local SLD server and choose Next.

       8.      Specify the name (ESRAdmin) and password of your ESR administration user and the name (ESRCMS<SID>) and password of your ESR content import user and choose Next.

       9.      Specify the name (ESRSLD<SID>) and password of your SLD service user and choose Next.

Note

If you want to use a remote SLD, this user must exist with the roles SAP_XI_IR_SERV_USER and SAP_SLD_CONFIGURATOR on your remote SLD server.

   10.      If you have chosen to use a remote SLD, specify the host and HTTP port number of your remote SLD system and choose Next.

The steps are executed one after the other. You can check the process status for each step. If an error occurs, you have the following options:

·        You can retry the current step.

·        You can skip the current step.

Note

You have to manually carry out skipped steps.

·        You can cancel and resume the setup process.

Note

To resume the process, you have to refresh your browser window.

Once all steps have been executed, you can view a log for each step.

Result

The wizard-based initial setup for the ES Repository performs the following post-installation steps:

·        Creating user groups

·        Creating users

·        Connecting to the System Landscape Directory

·        Restarting the ES Repository

·        Importing ESR Content

If you do not want to use this initial setup to perform the basic configuration steps required for the ES Repository, you have to carry out these steps manually as outlined in the step descriptions accessed by the hyperlinks above.

If you use the wizard-based initial setup, omit the steps listed above and continue with the manual steps described under: Additional Manual Configuration.
