Merging Object ListsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

  • You first need to create the object lists that you want to merge.

For more information, see Creating Object Lists .

Context

After creating several object lists , you may want to merge them for the following purposes:

  • You want to export proposals from the proposal pool for the objects in several object lists.

For more information, see Exporting the Proposal Pool .

Note

You can evaluate several object lists at a time so you do not need to merge object lists for evaluation purposes in transaction LXE_MASTER. For more information, see Creating an Evaluation Run .

Procedure

  1. Call transaction LXE_MASTER.
  2. On the Evaluations tab page, choose Object Lists.

The Object Lists dialog box appears. All existing object lists are displayed in this dialog box.

  3. Choose Create.
  4. Enter a description of the object list in the Description field (for example, Merge of object lists 2 and 4 ) and save your entry.

    The Parameters dialog box appears.

  5. To renew the domain assignment , switch on the checkbox Renew Domain Assignment . We recommend that you do this each time that you create an object list.
  6. To merge two or more existing object lists, choose the No Entries pushbutton next to Object Lists under Object List Merge .

A dialog box appears, listing the object lists available in this system.

  7. Double-click the object lists that you want to merge and choose Execute.

This takes you back to the Parameters dialog box. The number of selected object lists is displayed on the pushbutton next to Object Lists .

  8. Choose Save.

You return to the Object Lists dialog box.

  9. Select your object list and choose Activate .
  10. Schedule the object list creation job to run in the background.

Results

The system creates a new object list that contains all the objects that are contained in the existing objects that you selected.

You can now use this object list as the basis for a proposal pool export or top text creation.

Example

You created an object list that contained all objects from transport requests in January. 4 weeks later, you created an object list that contained all objects from transport requests in February. Both object lists have been evaluated and all objects that arrived in the worklists have been translated. You now need to start translation of a new project in a different system and want to save time by reusing the proposals created during translation of this project. To do this, you first need to merge the 2 object lists, and then use the merged object list as the basis for the proposal pool export.
