After selecting the collections that you want to assign for translation, you need to select the translator(s) to whom you want to assign the collections.
If you want to remove collections from translators' assignments you also need to select the translators in question.
For performance reasons as well as to enable a clear overview, we recommend that you avoid multiple assignments. In short, assign each relevant collection to one translator per target language.
The user(s) to whom you want to assign collections are created as translators in LXE_MASTER.
Your translator profile includes the authorization USCO with value 01 .
You are defined as a coordinator for all languages.
You have selected the collections that you want to assign. For more information, see Selecting Collections .
After selecting the collections you want to assign, choose Continue .
The Translators dialog box appears.
Selecting translators in the Translators dialog box consists of 1 or 2 steps:
Selecting translators according to one or more selection criteria.
Fine-tuning the selection you made in step 1 (this step is optional)
Step 1: Selecting Translators
Here are the options for making a simple selection of translators according to one criterion:
|
Selection Option |
Procedure |
|---|---|
|
Select all translators in the system |
Choose Select next to Total . Caution
Assigning the same collections to more than one translator for the same target language can cause performance and organizational problems. Where possible, make sure that each collections is assigned to one translator per target language only! |
|
Select all translators that have a specific text string in their name |
Enter the generic string in the Generic field and choose Select next to Generic . Example
Take care as this field is case-sensitive! |
|
Select all translators for one or more target languages |
Choose
Select next to
Targ. Langs , then double-click the target language(s) you require in the dialog box that appears. Choose
|
|
Select all translators to whom specific collections are already assigned |
Choose Select next to Collections . The Collections dialog box appears. Select the collections you require and choose Continue . You have now selected all translators to whom one or more of the collections you selected are assigned. |
|
Select translators from the clipboard |
Copy a list of translators to the clipboard from an external application (for example, an e-mail or document). Choose F4 on the field next to Clipboard , double-click the required target language, then choose Select next to Clipboard . Note
If the translators on the clipboard are defined for translation into more than one target language and you want them to be assigned these collections for each target language, select the All Languages checkbox next to clipboard. This is an efficient way for translation project managers to copy translation users between systems. |
You can also use the other selection functions to make more complex selections. Below are a few examples:
|
Complex Selection |
Procedure |
|---|---|
|
Select translators that both have a specific text string in their user name and all users in your clipboard |
|
|
Select all translators for a specific target language that do not have any collections from a specific translation graph in their assignment |
|
Step 2: Fine-Tuning Your Selection (Optional)
