In the kanban calculation, the system determines the relevant requirements for each workday on the basis of the results of the MRP run or long-term planning.
You have assigned a production supply area (PSA) to the material for which the calculation is to be carried out. As a rule, you can assign this PSA to the bill of material (BOM) item.
The following additional options are available for mass assignment of the production supply area:
Maintenance of PSA in the production version
Maintenance of the PSA in the material master record
Entry of a plant, storage location, PSAs in extended dependent requirement selection in the control cycle
See also: Storage Location and Supply Area Determination in BOM Explosion und Extended Dependent Requirement Selection .
If required, you have specified further requirement types . To to be able to specify further requirement types, from the Kanban menu, choose
If required, you have made the setting for the smoothing of requirements in the calculation profile .
If required, you have set the Requirement Fluctuations indicator in the calculation profile .
If required, you have specified the working times of the supply source (supplier) and the demand source (consumer) in the calculation profile .
The system determines all relevant requirement types in the period of examination and consolidates them on an exact-to-the day basis. In addition to the dependent requirements that are already assigned to a production supply area (PSA), the system also determines the further requirement types, such as customer requirements, that you defined previously. See also: Taking Further Requirement Types into Account
The system carries out a smoothing for the requirements determined if you have stipulated that this is to be done. In this process, you can also take the working times of the demand source (consumer) into account. See also: Smoothing of Requirements .
If you have set the Requirement Fluctuations indicator in the calculation profile , the system determines the requirement (demand) fluctuations for each working day of the consumer. The value determined is taken into account as an additional buffer. To calculate the requirement fluctuations, the standard deviation of the smoothed requirement quantity is determined. See also: Calculation of Requirement Fluctuations
If the working times of the supply source (supplier) and the demand source (consumer) differ, the system additionally determines a calendar buffer. See also: Calculation of Calendar Buffer
