Process for Standing Requests
Standing requests can be entered for both payment and acceptance requests. They are a work-saving method of representing accounting transactions for payments of an identical amount, but which are due at different times.
You enter a master document of a standing request for the accounting transaction. In this request you enter the data for generating posting documents, for example, document type, customer account, FM account assignment and amount. You also enter the standing request data, which controls when the individual posting documents are to be generated from the original document.
For more information, see Entering a Standing Request .
This master document of the standing request must go through an approval procedure, that is, you must release it before it can be posted in the next step.
Note
In the implementation guide (IMG) of Funds Management Government, you can automate the approval procedure for each request type. For further information, see documentation on the IMG activity control of processing request types.
For more information on posting standing requests, see Posting Standing Requests :
You generate posting documents at desired intervals. When you call transaction Generate Posting Documents , the program selects all standing requests that are to be executed in the specified period. During a run, the program generates one posting document for each standing request.
You can find more information on this program’s mode of operation on its selection screen under
( )
(program documentation).
If you need to change the settings of a standing request or adjust them for the fiscal year change, see Changing Standing Requests .
Note
If you configure your settings in the Customizing of Funds Management Government so that the program automatically creates earmarked funds when you create standing requests, the following problem may occur: standing requests normally span several years whereas earmarked funds are year-dependent. The program creates the earmarked funds for the fiscal year in which you create the standing request. After a change in fiscal year, the earmarked funds are no longer current. You can use program Create Earmarked Funds from Standing Request to create earmarked funds for the new fiscal year and update the corresponding standing request.
If the period specified in the master document of the standing request has expired, the program sets the deletion indicator in the original document of the standing request the last time the standing request is executed. To ensure that the standing request is really deleted from the database, you must delete the standing request yourself. Only the master document of the standing request is deleted, not the acceptance or payment requests that were already posted.
For more information, see Deleting Standing Requests .
