Transferring Plan Data from
Controlling
You can use plan data from the following Controlling (CO) components for your planning in new General Ledger Accounting:
|
Overhead Cost Controlling (CO-OM) |
Profitability Analysis (CO-PA) |
Primary Cost Elements |
Yes |
Yes |
Secondary Cost Elements |
Yes |
No |
You plan primary and secondary cost elements directly in new General Ledger Accounting. In this way, it is not necessary to perform planning in Profit Center Accounting (EC-PCA) or in the Special Purpose Ledgers (FI-SL).
The following diagram illustrates the differences in transferring plan data between classic General Ledger Accounting and new General Ledger Accounting:

● You have activated new General Ledger Accounting.
● You have defined a leading ledger (and, if required, non-leading ledgers).
● You have defined plan periods.
● You have made the Customizing settings described in the section Configuring the Plan Data Transfer from Controlling.
You can transfer plan data as documents. When you do so, you can check whether plan data has already been transferred to the ledger by a posting.
With the standard settings, the system transfers all data records that contain primary costs. However, you can specify for CO-OM that secondary cost elements are also included in the plan data transfer. With the real-time integration of Controlling with Financial Accounting, account determination is used to derive the assigned G/L account during the transfer for secondary cost elements. The secondary cost elements are updated as additional information in new General Ledger Accounting. You can display this information in reporting evaluations.

● To transfer plan data from CO-OM, go to Customizing for Financial Accounting (New) and choose General Ledger Accounting (New) → Planning → Transfer Planning Data from CO-OM.
For more information, see Transferring Plan Data from Cost Center Accounting.
● To transfer plan data from CO-PA, go to Customizing for Financial Accounting (New) and choose General Ledger Accounting (New) → Planning → Transfer Planning Data from CO-PA.
For more information, see Transferring Plan Data from Profitability Analysis.

Only run the data transfer in online mode when no other users are performing postings. If another user is performing a posting at the same time, you should only transfer data from posting periods that have been closed.
