Define Schedule Priorities
The system uses a list of predefined priorities, or costs, to provide a schedule according to your organization's priorities. You can modify cost values to align your schedule results with your objectives. Use this procedure to define schedule priorities that the system follows when calculating schedules.

Schedule priorities have preconfigured default settings that apply a balanced importance. Significant changes to these values might result in undesirable or unpredictable schedule results.

¡ The SAP IMG, by choosing the path SAP IMG ® Customer Relationship Management ® Workforce Deployment ® Retail and Interaction Center Workforce Deployment ® Schedule Settings ® Define Schedule Priorities

The following table describes the preconfigured costs.
Cost Type |
Short Description |
Definition |
1 |
Alloc Filler |
When you configure tasks, one way in which you can define them is filler, or time-indeterminate work. This work is allocated during the scheduling process. This cost represents the importance of this type of work relative to other workload. |
2 |
Alloc Filler Blocks |
When you define filler tasks, you can specify minimum and maximum amount of time spent on the task. This creates blocks of filler. This cost defines importance cost of staffing this type of task. |
3 |
Min Average Skill |
You can define average skill or proficiency requirements for work areas. The system will then attempt to ensure that all employees scheduled for a given time period have, on the average, the skill / proficiency rating you have defined, or better. The cost represents the relative importance of this feature in scheduling. |
4 |
Qualified Workload |
This cost represents the additional importance placed on scheduling workloads identified as qualified workloads. |
5 |
Shift Characteristic |
This cost represents the importance of honoring the shift characteristics you define in the activities Define Non-Transition Zones and Define Disallowed Shift Lengths. |
6 |
Contract/set min/max |
This cost represents the importance of honoring employee work rules for minimum and maximum contract hours per period. |
7 |
Min gap btwn shifts |
This cost represents the importance of honoring the employee work rule minimum gap between shifts. This is particularly important in environments with extended hours, or 24-hour environments. |
8 |
Seniority Pref Unmet |
You can configure the system to schedule employees in accordance with their preferences. When you schedule employees according to preferences by seniority (that is, when the most senior employees have their preferences met first), this cost is applied to hours of preference time that are not scheduled (or unmet) by the system. |
9 |
Seniority Preference |
When you schedule employees according to preferences by seniority, this cost is applied to hours that the system schedules for an employee outside of their preferences. |
10 |
Special Day Part Min |
This cost represents the importance of honoring the configurable, minimum day part work rules. |
11 |
Special Day Part Max |
This cost represents the importance of honoring the configurable, maximum day part work rules. |
12 |
Max hrs/day with OT |
This cost represents the importance of honoring the maximum hours per day work rule when a schedule exceeds the daily overtime threshold. |
13 |
Max hrs/wk with OT |
This cost represents the importance of honoring the maximum hours per week work rule when a schedule exceeds the weekly overtime threshold. |
14 |
Core Scheduling |
Defines the minimum resource and proficiency requirements for this work area. The system will meet core scheduling requirements regardless of workload demands. |
You have defined the schedule priorities and can assign them to your location. For more information, see Assign Parameter Settings to Locations.
