You use budget posting transactions to create and change fund budget.

You can update and transfer budgets, depending on your authorization.

Prerequisites

You have defined budget posting transaction types in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management (CRM) by choosing   Transactions   Basic Settings   Define Transaction Types   and made the following settings:

  • Selected Budget Posting as the leading transaction category in Definition of Transaction Types

  • Selected Budget Posting in Assignment of Business Transaction Categories

  • In the Customizing header you have:

    • Identified the budget posting type associated with the transaction type; Update, Transfer, Extend, Expiration, Renewal or Automated Budget Transfer

    • Indicated that you want the budget postings transaction type to use the approval process

You have associated an item category group to each budget posting transaction type in Customizing for CRM by choosing   Transactions   Basic Settings   Define Item Category Determination.  

You have defined the number ranges to use for budget postings in Customizing for CRM by choosing   Funds Management   Budget Postings   Define Number Ranges for Budget Postings.  

Optionally, you have assigned a fund determination profile to budget posting transaction types in Customizing for CRM by choosing   Funds Management   Budget Postings   Fund Determination   Assign Fund Determination Profiles   to ensure that the correct funds are used in, for example, the budget transfer process.

Features

  • You create budget postings manually, automatically or by using an external application.

  • A wizard guides you through the budget transfer process.

    You can transfer budget from one fund to many funds, from many funds to one fund, or from many funds to many funds.

  • The organizational data of the budget posting transaction determines the default currency of the budget posting. You can create a budget posting in a currency that is different from the default.

  • You can use availability control (AVC) for example, to ensure there is enough fund budget available to transfer budget to another fund.

  • You can create your own BAdI implementations for processing methods for actions with budget postings by implementing the Business Add-In: BAdI: Budget Posting Class Actions by choosing   CRM   Funds Management   Budget Postings   Business Add-Ins   BAdI: Budget Posting Class Actions  .

  • You can create enhancements for business transaction components that were created using the Easy Enhancement Workbench (EEW) by implementing the Business Add-In: BAdI: Enhancements for New Business Transaction Components by choosing   CRM   Funds Management   Budget Postings   Business Add-Ins   BAdI: Enhancements for New Business Transaction Components  .

  • You can enhance the budget postings search to include external search fields by implementing the Business Add-In: BAdI: Budget Postings Search by choosing   CRM   Funds Management   Budget Postings   Business Add-Ins   BAdI: Budget Postings Search  .
