Use

An interlinkage is created in order to relate two intelligent replication objects to each other via a link table. Only intelligent replication objects can be linked with one another.

Prerequisites

You must have selected the object type Interlinkage in the Object type selection list.

Procedure

Proceed as follows:

...

       1.      Choose the Object ® Create function from the application menu, or the corresponding symbol from the application toolbar.

       2.      In the Object information area, select the leading and following replication object for the interlinkage, and state whether the interlinkage should be bi-directional.

In the field you are provided, via the input help, with a list of all the available intelligent replication objects for selection. Only one of the two replication objects to be selected needs to have interlinkage capability. This means that it has to have a potential criteria field of the type “interlinkage”.

If you select two replication objects that cannot be interlinked, in the next step you will not be able to select a criteria field.

       3.      Select the required criteria field. All the criteria fields of type interlinkage in the two selected replication objects are offered for selection.

When you select a criteria field, at the same time the RepObject field is filled with the name of the replication object and the Link table field is filled with the name of the relevant physical table through which the two objects are to be linked.

If the selected criteria field comes from the leading replication object, the target field is also predefined. If  the selected criteria field comes from the subsequent replication object, the outbound field is predefined.

       4.      Select the remaining outbound or target field for the interlinkage and enter the relation value on which the linkage table is to be filtered; and enter the field that contains this relationship value.

Overview of the information that has to be supplied:

Field

Selection/Entry

Leading Object

Select a replication object. A list of all intelligent replication objects appears.

Bi-directional

Select this checkbox if you want the interlinkage between the two objects to be bi-directional.

Following object

Select the second replication object which is to be linked with the first one. A list of all intelligent replication objects appears.

Criteria field

Select the potential criteria field through which the two replication objects are to be linked.

Repobject

When you select a criteria field, this field is automatically filled with the name of the corresponding replication object.

Link-Tab.

When you select a criteria field, this field is automatically filled with the name of the corresponding physical table through which the objects are to be linked.

Source field

Select the field which is to be the starting point for interlinking the two objects. A list of all fields in the link table appears.

This field is automatically filled, provided that you have selected a field from the subsequent replication object as the criteria field.

Target field

Select the field which is to be the target field for interlinking the two objects. A list of all fields in the link table appears.

This field is automatically filled, provided that you have selected a field from the leading replication object as the criteria field.

Relation field

State the field in which the relation value for which the link table should be filtered is stored. Except for the MANDT field, all fields from the interlinkage table are available for selection.

Relation value

State the relation value for which the link table should be filtered.

       5.      To create a new interlinkage choose the Object ® Save function or the corresponding symbol in the application toolbar.

       6.      If the interlinkage has been successfully created, choose Architecture and Technology ® Middleware ® Development ® Generation ® Generation ® Generate Application Table Indexes (Transaction SMOGINDEX) from your SAP Easy Access user menu, to check whether missing indices have to be regenerated.

In the Dependent information area you can see the publication INTERLINKAGE on the tab page Publications. The newly created interlinkage, or the interlinkage that has been selected in the navigation window is used in this publication. The publication INTERLINKAGE is assigned automatically when an interlinkage is created and cannot be deleted.

You can delete an existing interlinkage by using the Object ® Delete function or the corresponding symbol in the application toolbar.
