Tasks
Task |
Description |
Recommended Frequency |
Update Categories |
Retrieves all eBay® categories. When creating an auction, the seller selects from these categories. For more information, see Auction Creation. |
Daily at midnight, that is, type Daily with a start time 00:00:00 |
Update No-Winner Auctions |
Updates the status of auctions which have closed without a winner, and whose end date is at least one hour from the current time. This is to give eBay® sufficient time to update its database. For more information, see Auction Monitoring. |

Update Feedback |
Retrieves buyers’ feedback from eBay® and provides it for the seller to review. For more information, see Auction Feedback. |

Publish Auctions |
Publishes scheduled auctions on eBay®. The seller can set a publishing date for an auction, but the actual publishing date depends on how you have set up this task. For more information, see Auction Publishing. |

Update Bids |
Retrieves bid information from eBay®. For more information, see Auction Monitoring. |
Every 20 minutes, that is, type Periodic with a period of 20 minutes |
Update Winners |
Retrieves winner information from eBay®. For more information, see Auction Monitoring. |
Every 20 minutes, that is, type Periodic with a period of 20 minutes |
Auto Feedback |
Automatically leaves positive feedback on behalf of the seller if the buyer has completed checkout and left positive feedback. |
Daily close to midnight, that is, type Daily with a start time such as 23:50:00. The exact time depends on the other task schedules. See Dependent Task Schedules below. |
Process Bank Transactions |
Supports payments made by bank transaction instead of PayPal®. This task checks the CSV file (drawn from your bank statement) to determine which auctions have been checked out and paid for, and which payments are still outstanding. For information about creating the CSV file, see the configuration documentation. (See Selling via eBay® ® Implementation Considerations ® Configuration.) |
Daily at midnight, that is, type Daily with a start time 00:00:00 |
Dependent Task Schedules
The Update Feedback task and Auto Feedback task are dependent on the Update Winners task. For this reason, the Update Winners task should be scheduled to run first, then the Update Feedback task, and finally the Auto Feedback task.

Monitoring a Task
In the Task Schedule overview, click a task. The system displays the task details and execution history, including the start and end times, status, and a link to the log. The log provides details of the task steps and any errors.
Starting and Stopping a Task
In the Task Schedule overview, select a task and choose:
· Start
Starts the task after you have edited it. When the administrator logs on to the SVE application for the first time, all tasks are stopped and need to be edited before they can be started.
● Run Now
The system attempts to run the task instantaneously, rather than waiting for the scheduled time of execution. This is especially useful for test purposes.
● Pause
The scheduler does not run the next execution cycle of the task. For example, if the task is scheduled to execute its cycle at 10:00AM and the task is paused at 09:50AM, the task will not run at 10:00AM. The task cannot be paused if it is already being executed.
● Resume
The task resumes its next execution cycle. For example, if the task is resumed at 09:55AM and the task is scheduled to execute its next cycle at 10:00AM, the task will run at 10:00AM.
● Refresh
The system refreshes the Task Schedule overview and updates the task information.
Editing a Task
...

2. Edit the task as required.
