Use

Sellers can use the selling via eBay® (SVE) application to monitor auctions. In the SVE application, choose Auction Management ® Monitor Auctions. When you click the name of an auction on the Monitor Auctions screen, the SVE application automatically requests eBay® to provide the current auction status.

Prerequisites

You have created and saved the auctions you want to monitor. For more information, see Auction Creation.

Auction Status

Description

Unpublished

You have created and saved the auction, but not yet set a publishing date. For more information, see Auction Publishing.

To edit the auction, click the name of the auction and, on the General Details tab page, choose Edit.

Scheduled

You have scheduled the auction for publishing. For more information, see Auction Publishing.

Published

You have published the auction and it is listed on eBay®.

To view the auction on eBay®, click the name of the auction and, on the General Details tab page, click the eBay® auction ID.

Closed

Bids have been made and the system has closed the auction automatically upon expiration of the duration of the auction, or you have closed the auction manually before expiration of the duration of the auction, for example, because you are satisfied with the bids made.

The winner can now proceed to checkout.

Closed (No Winner)

The system has closed the auction automatically upon expiration of the duration of the auction, but without a winner.

Before relisting the auction on eBay®, check eBay®’s relisting policy because you may qualify for a credit.

To relist the auction on eBay®, click the name of the auction and, on the General Details tab page, choose Relist.

Finalized

All winners have been determined.

In the case of multiple item auctions, all winners have been determined and no items are leftover.

eBay® allows winning bidders of multiple item auctions to retract their bids if they do not win the quantity they bid for. To manually retract such winners, click the name of the auction and, on the Winners/Orders tab page, select the winner and choose Retract. The system cancels the order created for the winner in the back-end system, thereby releasing the winning quantity. In the database, the system sets the winner status to Retracted, and changes the auction status to Partially Finalized or Closed (No Winner).

Partially Finalized

This auction status is valid only for multiple item auctions and indicates that some items are leftover. For example, if you have a multiple item auction with five items, but only three items were won by the respective bidders, two items are leftover.

Winner Statuses

For auctions with a winner, you can check the winner status on the Winners/Orders tab page.

Winner Status

Description

Checkout Pending

The auction has closed, but the winner has not yet completed checkout. A delivery block remains on the goods.

Checkout Incomplete

There has been a problem during checkout and a delivery block remains on the goods. The system displays the reason on the Resolve tab page. The problem could be due to:

·         Invalid address data

In the back-end system, correct the address data manually.

·         Incorrect amount

The buyer has not paid via PayPal® and the payment does not match the amount due. Contact the buyer for correct payment or accept a lower payment.

·         Nonuse of PayPal®

If you do not use PayPal®, the system sets the winner status to Checkout Incomplete automatically so that you can monitor your bank transactions to ensure payment has been received before you release the goods.

After correcting the problem, choose Resolve. The system changes the auction status to Checkout Completed automatically.

Checkout Completed

The winner has completed checkout and you have received payment. The system lifts the delivery block on the goods and initiates shipment.

Retracted

See auction status Finalized.

Activities

The system updates the auction status and winner status automatically.
