Function documentation Service Orders Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

This function is used to maintain business processes in the service area in your company. It provides the following information required during the service execution process:

·        Business partners involved in the service execution, for example, customer, contact person and so on

·        Address information of a business partner

·        Services to be rendered

·        Items to be serviced

·        Spare parts required by a service employee to execute the service

Features

·        Create service order records to maintain a record of service activities performed at a customer’s site. For more information Creating a Service Order Record.

·        Create a service item. For more information, see Service Item and Creating a Service Item.

·        Maintain reference object details for a service order and a service item. For more information about reference objects, see Reference Object.

·        Maintain the subject information. This includes the service information, for example, what was wrong, what were the symptoms and what was done to solve the problem. For more information, see Processing Subject Information.

·        Complete service assignments. For more information, see Creating a Service Assignment.

·        Generate reports on a predefined template. This provides information such as service recipient address, estimated duration of service, product and installed base details. For more information, see Generating Reports.

Constraints

This component offers you various options. However, it does not support the following:

·        You cannot make any further modification once the status of a service assignment is set to Completed.

·        A service order record is stored locally on the mobile client until it is uploaded to CRM Enterprise. Once uploaded, a service order record cannot be modified on the mobile client.
