Service Item 
A service item describes a service that needs to be rendered and the materials required for the service execution process.
Service item defines the deliverables for a service process.
A service item can be any of the following types:
· Service Product: A logical product that describes the activity to be performed at a customer site. For example, Inspection Service. For more information, see Service Product.
· Material: A material that is required during the service execution process. For example, planned or unplanned material.
- Planned Materials - Materials planned for the operation in a service order, withdrawn from stock and used in executing the operation.
- Unplanned Materials - Materials not included for the operation while planning the service order, but required to execute it.

A service item forms the basis for billing, including services for which a customer should pay, and the cost of these services.
You can see the following service item data on the Service Processes/Item Details screen.
· Item Number - Displays the serial number. for example, 10, 20, 30 and so on
· Description - Displays a brief explanation of the item
· Desired Start and Desired End - Displays an estimated duration of the service. This is relevant only for a service product.
· Quantity and Unit - Displays the quantity along with its unit of measurement for the item
