Service Product
A service product is a master record (product of the type Service) used to represent the services that need to be performed. These services can be internal services or services performed at a customer’s site.
Service products are specified at item level in the Service Process so that you can enter services requested by a customer. Data, such as the number of persons necessary for execution of a service, estimated duration of a service, quantity, and resource planning originates from the service product.

You provide various services for the inspection or repair of a motor car. These tasks can be assigned to a service product. The service product contains defaulted data (such as type of the car) and data that relates to a specific car (such as engine power).
A product of type Service can be considered from two different perspectives:
· Externally, that is, from the customer’s point of view:
Which services should the customer pay for, and how much do they cost?
· Internally, that is, from the perspective of technical execution:
Which tasks are required from a technical point of view in order to perform the service?
