User Creation in CRM E-Commerce
You create users to enable customers and employees to use your CRM E-Commerce Web-based applications. The structure of the user varies according to which CRM E-Commerce application you are using. For a full list of the user structure components for Web-based applications, see User Structures.
· You have copied, renamed, and modified the standard authorization roles delivered for users in Web-based applications. For more information, see Authorization Concept in CRM E-Commerce.
· You have carried out the appropriate Customizing activities for user management in your SAP CRM system.
You can find all user management-relevant activities in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management under E-Commerce ® Basic settings for E-Commerce ® Internet User and carry out the assigned activities.
· You have created reference users if you are using self-based user creation for B2C Web shop users.
You can carry out user creation for the various applications in the SAP CRM Backend system, in the Web-based User Management application, and your customers can create them themselves in the B2C scenario.
You can create Internet users only for B2B CRM E-Commerce applications in the Web-based User Management application. You can create superusers and B2B Web shop customers.
The user creation activities are the same as in the backend system; the only difference being that it is for users for B2B applications only and in a Web-based environment. In other words you can do the following:
· Create new Internet users and assign companies and business partners
· Create new Internet users for existing companies and business partners, or vice versa.
· Assign authorization roles to users
You can do this directly or through reference users.
· Create initial passwords and generate new passwords for users
· Search for, change, delete, lock, and unlock users

To set up Web-based user management creation to run with your backend system you need to carry out the Customizing activities for this area. In Customizing for Customer Relationship Management choose E-Commerce ®Basic Settings for E-Commerce ® Internet User ®Web-based User Management.
You can create all types of users for your CRM E-Commerce Web-based applications in your backend SAP CRM system. For example, you can create Internet users who can shop in the B2B or B2C Web shops, or users that can create other users, that is Web shop managers and superusers, or you can create application administrators, for example for the Auctioning via Web shop application. You create users depending on the user structure for your application as detailed in the table above. Once you have created the user structures you assign authorization roles to them for the particular application.
For more information, see Example: User Management Process for B2B Web Shop Users.

Instead of creating the users in SU01 you can also create them in transaction SU05. However, for security reasons we do not recommend that you use SU05 users anymore. If you have SU05 users in your system you can migrate them to SU01 users. You migrate users in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management under E-Commerce ® Basic Settings for E-Commerce ® Internet User ® Set Internet User (B2B )/Set Up Internet Users (B2C).
This is only possible for customers using your B2C Web shops. In this case the customer registers in the Web shop and is prompted by the system to provide all necessary details for the user record, for example password and email address. The system takes these details, creates a user record, and generates a user and password for the customer. The system assigns authorizations to the B2C user based on the reference user settings that you have made in your backend SAP CRM system.
For more information, see Example: User Management Process for B2C Web Shop Users.
