Early Withdrawal
This Account Management (FS-AM)
order enables you to trigger the withdrawal of a time deposit before the due date of the time deposit agreement. For more information, see Time Deposits.
If a customer requests an early withdrawal of a time deposit, you can charge an early withdrawal penalty and an administration charge. You can also waive the calculation of both of these charges. For more information, see Calculations for Early Withdrawal.
To execute an early withdrawal, the system calculates and posts the early withdrawal penalty and the administration charge automatically and in one step. You can also pay the net withdrawal amount to the customer in cash, transfer it to a customer account, or leave it on the time deposit account. You can specify whether the system is to generate correspondence automatically to notify the customer about the details of the early withdrawal.
Note
In an early withdrawal that has not yet been executed, you can simulate and display the data by choosing Calculate
.
For each time deposit agreement, you can create one or more early partial withdrawals and one full withdrawal:
Partial early withdrawal
A partial early withdrawal is when a customer withdraws part of the time deposit before the maturity date of the time deposit agreement. The customer has the following options:
Net withdrawal amount
The customer would like to receive a certain amount. The system deducts the early withdrawal penalty and the administration charge from the remaining balance of the time deposit account.
Gross withdrawal amount
The customer wants to leave a certain amount on the time deposit account. The customer would like to withdraw the remaining amount (= gross withdrawal amount). The system deducts the early withdrawal penalty and the administration charge from the gross withdrawal amount.
Full early withdrawal
A full early withdrawal is when a customer withdraws all of the time deposit before the maturity date of the time deposit agreement. The system calculates the early withdrawal amount using the value date of the valid balance. The system includes the credit interest incurred and info items up to this time. You can specify whether the account is to be closed when the customer makes a full withdrawal.
If there is a full withdrawal, the system can calculate capital yield tax as part of settlement.
If you execute full withdrawal, the system settles the corresponding time deposit agreement thus changing its status to Settled
.
You can execute early withdrawal immediately by activation. You can also schedule one or more withdrawals for the future, before the maturity date of the time deposit agreement. In this case, you need to use report Execute Due Early Withdrawal
to execute the activated early withdrawals. The system executes all early withdrawals automatically on the execution date if their execution date is on or before the current posting date for end-of-day processing.
If you execute the withdrawal when the time deposit account is in the grace period, the system selects the Waive Administration Charge
and Waive Early Withdrawal Penalty
checkboxes automatically. The system does not calculate or post an early withdrawal penalty or administration charge.
Note
Note that the system always selects the checkboxes during the execution. For a partial early withdrawal, the system does this during the activation.
You define the grace period in the Customizing activity Create Account Product
or Change Account Product
in the product attribute Time Deposit Grace Period (Days)
.
If you wish to execute a withdrawal without disbursing it, you must select the No Disbursement
checkbox.
Note
When you execute the early withdrawal, the system does not disburse the withdrawal amount to the customer on the execution date or value date. In this way, you can charge the customer with the early withdrawal penalty and the administration charge without disbursing the withdrawal amount.
If you also want to set the execution date of the early withdrawal on the end of term of the time deposit agreement, in the Customizing activity Change Message Control for Early Withdrawal
, you must define the system behavior in such a way that the system displays a warning message rather than an error message in this case. When you carry out the withdrawal, the system does not disburse the withdrawal amount on the due date, but does levy the charges.
You can archive early withdrawals with the archiving object ORDER_EWD

The Business Add-Ins (BAdIs) that you can use for early withdrawal are in Customizing for Account Management (FS-AM)
. Choose .
When the system processes early withdrawals, the corresponding release object and authorization objects control the program flow.
The system calls the following Account Management (FS-AM)
objects for processing:
The system checks the account and displays messages accordingly if one or more of the following requirements have not been met:
The execution date is before the maturity date of the time deposit.
Note
If you have set that the system behavior intended by SAP, meaning an error message, is overwritten in the Customizing activityChange Message Control for Early Withdrawal
, the execution date can be the same as the due date of the time deposit. In this case, the system only displays a warning message.
If you select the Immediate Execution
checkbox, the execution date is today's date.
Note
If the execution date is before today's date, the system adjusts the execution date automatically to today's date.
If you do not select the Immediate Execution
checkbox, the execution date is either on or after today's date.
Note
You can execute an early withdrawal for a date in the past by using the Execution Date
and Value Date
fields. If, for example, the system has already executed end-of-day processing, you can still create and execute an early withdrawal retroactively.
You have defined payment details in the early withdrawal.
In an early withdrawal, the available amount is less than the time deposit amount.
To create a withdrawal with a particular execution date, there is no additional withdrawal for the time deposit account that has the same execution date.
To create a full withdrawal, there are no active prenotes for the time deposit account.

Authorization for this organization
If there are more withdrawals for the same time deposit account that are in the future, the system issues a warning when you create a partial withdrawal.
When you execute the order, the system changes the status of a time deposit agreement if you make a full withdrawal.
During a full withdrawal with account closure, the system generates and activates an account closure order.
The system generates a payment order.
The system executes settlement for a full withdrawal.
The system generates a change document that meets auditing requirements.
Work Item
The system generates a work item for the release process, if required on the basis of the Customizing settings. For more information, see Release Object: OR_EWD (Early Withdrawal).
The system can create correspondence for the Execution
operation.
