This scenario is a combination of scenarios Key Date-Based Cash Pooling with Minimum or Maximum Amounts and Key Date-Based Cash pooling with Constant Balance (Base Amount).

Prerequisites

To represent this scenario in the system, you need to define the following rules in the settings for each account:

  • Main Account

    • No rule

  • Subaccounts

    • SAP0011000 (Surplus Clearing)

    • SAP0012000 (Deficit Clearing)

    • SAP0036000 (Base Amount on Subaccount)

    • SAP0042000 (Minimum Amount for Surplus Clearing)

    • SAP0043000 (Maximum Amount for Surplus Clearing)

    • SAP0081000 (Summary of The Same Value Dates)

Example Example

You have defined a base amount of EUR 3,800.00 (credit) for a subaccount. You have also defined a minimum amount of EUR 500.00 and a maximum amount of EUR 2,000.00 in the settings of the account for the surplus clearing. The value date-based balance at the time of the cash pooling is EUR 4,000.00 (credit).

The system does not post anything since the base amount of EUR 3,800.00 is to remain on the subaccount, and the resultant clearing amount of EUR 200.00 is less than the minimum amount of EUR 500.00.

Note Note

To ensure that the system responds as described in the example, you need to use the rule SAP0081000 (Summary of The Same Value Dates) for your subaccount. The system processes each rule according to its priority and in chronological order. If you do not activate rule SAP 0081000, the system does the following:

  1. Surplus clearing (rule SAP0011000): The system flags the clearing of EUR 4,000.00.

  2. Base amount on subaccount (rule SAP0036000): The system flags the return posting of EUR 3,800.00.

  3. Maximum amount for surplus clearing (rule SAP0043000): The system processes the flagging from step 1 and reduces the clearing amount to the maximum of EUR 2,000.00. Next, it executes the flagged postings. It debits EUR 2,000.00 from the subaccount (result from step 3) and credits the subaccount with EUR 3,800.00 (result from step 2). To avoid this, we recommend that you also activate rule SAP0081000.
