Procedure documentationEditing Contract Relationships for Effective Cash Pooling

On the Contract Relationships tab page, you can portray the structure of a master contract for the Effective Cash Pooling process.

You can assign participants (accounts or master contracts) below the main contract (main master contract). Each master contract has a main account and any number of participant accounts for effective cash pooling. Current (checking) and deposit (savings) accounts are allowed as participating accounts.

Prerequisites

You have created the accounts and master contracts that you want to assign to the main master contract in the account-managing system or master contract-managing system.

Note the general prerequisites for master contracts under Editing Contract Relationships and the restrictions for time-dependent editing of contract relationships.

For more information, see the documentation for contract element Effective Cash Pooling: Participant (REEC).

Procedure

For general information about your navigation options when you are editing participant contracts, see Editing Participants.

Adding Participants

You have chosen Add Participants (Add Participants) and are in the dialog box for selecting the participant type and activating applications.

Assigning Master Contracts
  1. Choose the contract category Master Contract.

  2. Activate the Effective Cash Pooling application.

    Note Note

If the corresponding application has been activated in the master contract product of the main master contract, you can assign all or individual participants to additional applications. You can assign all or individual participants to other applications. It may be useful to assign participants to the Compensation application.

    End of the note.
  3. Choose Continue. The system displays the Create Master Contract: Participant Contract dialog box.

  4. In the Master Contract Participant(s) group box, specify the master contract number.

  5. Choose Continue.

Assigning Accounts
  1. In the Participant Type group box, choose contract category Account.

  2. You can choose an identification key if required.

    Note Note

If you do not choose an identification key, identify the participating account in the next step by entering the external account identification. This depends on the settings in Customizing for Account Management under Define External Account Identification and the settings in the corresponding account product. Specify the required data in the Bank Key, Bank Country, and Account Number or IBAN and/or Account Differentiation Characteristic, and Account Currency fields.

If you choose an identification key, identify the participating account in the next step by entering a character string of up to 80 characters in the Identification field. The identification key that you choose determines what this character string contains. You can display the identification key and the identification of an account managed in Account Management on the Basic Data tab page.

    End of the note.
  3. You can choose an account category if required.

  4. Activate the Effective Cash Pooling application.

  5. Choose Continue.

The system displays the Create Master Contract: Participant Contract dialog box.

  6. If you did not choose an identification key in the second step, specify the external account identification on the Participating Account tab page.

If you have selected an identification key, specify the identification of the account in the account-managing system in the Participating Contract group box.

    Example Example

When you made the addition, you selected the identification key:

In the Identification field, enter the following identification:

    End of the example.
  7. If the account is to be a main account, set the Main Account indicator in the Relationship Attributes for Effective Cash Pooling group box.

If you do not set the indicator for any of the participant accounts and payment details are stored in the main master contract, the system uses these payment details as the main account.

For more information, see the field documentation.

  8. In the Relationship Attributes group box, assign one or more cash pooling rules to each agreement.

    1. In the Agreement Data section, choose Select Agreement (Select Agreement) to select an agreement.

    2. In the Rule Data section, select one or more rules for the selected agreement. Note the following:

      • The rules are displayed in accordance with the Customizing settings in the Customizing activity Define Rules. If you edit the main account, the system only provides the rules that you can use for a main account.

      • If you select a rule that has additional attributes, choose Selection (Selection). The system displays a dialog box containing the field attributes for the selected rule. Enter the values you require and choose Continue.

For more information about assigning attributes to a rule, see the documentation for the Customizing activity Define Rules.

      • You can check your settings in the dialog box Change Master Contract: Participant Contract. If, for example, you have selected two rules that exclude each other in accordance with the Customizing settings in the Customizing activity Define Rule Restrictions, the system issues an error message.

        Note Note

The fields in the group box Information About Contract Relationships provide information about the hierarchy level of the master contract, and are not ready for input.

        End of the note.
  9. Choose Continue.

  10. The system adds the account as a participant.
