Core Elements of the Runtime
Core Elements of the Runtime: Functions
Function |
Description |
Basic Layout |
The basic structure of the UI. It contains the three screen areas which are always part of both work centers (GP work center and specific process instance). These screen areas are: ● Navigation ● Process Title Bar ● Application Area For more information about these screen areas and others, see: |
Variable Views |
The screen area View Selection can contain several generic and customized views. For more information, see: |
Contextual Navigation Panel |
The screen area Contextual Navigation Panelis only displayed in a process instance when corresponding components are assigned to the views.
Different components of the Contextual Navigation Panel are assigned to the individual generic views. You can create and assign your own specific components using customized views. For more information, see: |
You Can Concept |
During design time, ad hoc items can be assigned to all actions but not to blocks or processes. Each ad hoc item creates an instance of itself every time it is executed and thus acts like an action. The input parameters of these items can be assigned to the input parameters of those actions to which they refer. You can also assign Info Callable Objects to any activity in the design time. Its input parameters can be assigned to context parameters. Info Callable Objects are not activities. They do not have a workflow status and can therefore be executed as often as you wish. You can manually set the status to “read”. In the runtime, ad hoc items and Info Callable Objects are displayed in the component You Can of the screen area Contextual Navigation Panel. For more information, see: |

Phase Navigator |
The Phase Navigator shows the individual phases of the running process. The navigator is displayed in the process title bar – provided that the process consists of multiple phases. |
Attachments |
Attachments can be assigned to individual actions, blocks, and the entire process. This assignment is possible in the design time during the creation of the process template and in the runtime during the process execution. There following types of attachments exist: ● Files ● URL ● User Note the following differentiation: ● Attachments are assigned at action level, block level, or process level. ○ Attachments with validity for the entire process are displayed in the Additional Resources and Process Information views. ○ Attachments with validity for a running phase (action), as well as its parent nodes, are only displayed during this phase and in the views ■ Process Activities ■ Process Information ● Attachments are assigned at design time or runtime. ○ Attachments from the design time are read-only. You cannot delete them at runtime. ○ At runtime, attachments can be opened, added, and deleted. In the following views, attachments can be added and deleted: ● Additional Resources (attachments at process level) ● Process Activities (attachments at action level and its parent blocks and process) ● Process Information (attachments at process, action and block levels) For more information, see: |
