Alerting
Purpose
The Alerting IT process describes how the system checks the alert category of an alert that has been triggered and then distributes the settings in the alert category to the required recipients.

Prerequisites
In order for the system to be able to run this process, you must have defined alert categories in alert management. Alert categories determine, among other things, the conditions under which a specific alert is sent to specific recipients.
In the BEx Broadcaster you have defined the alert in the Broadcast Setting Generation IT process and assigned it to a specific alert category.
The system has determined the alert in the Broadcasting IT process.
Process Flow
The following process runs primarily in the BI Java usage type:
1. The system checks the alert category.
2. The system forwards the alert, for example to the universal worklist.
Result
The system has checked the alert and forwarded it the required site, such as the universal worklist, according to the settings for the alert category.
