Background documentation Variable for Defining Worklists  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

The worklist for planning is generated on a user-dependent basis using a variable. In other words, the variable determines the responsible persons or groups.

When a particular planner executes planning, the system determines the Planning Folders. The worklist is generated on a user-dependent basis for each planning folder.

Depending on the variables that you are assigned to, a range of the following pushbuttons is provided on the LaunchPad:

·        MM: All Customers

·        SM: All Customers

·        SM: Account Groups

·        AC: Account Groups

·        Accounts

·        Sub-accounts

·        Channel

·        Region

Only the customers that are assigned to you are displayed on each customer level.

User-Specific Variable

You can use following variables to define user-specific worklists:

·        SM/MM – All Customers (BPMGR)

This variable is defined for the characteristic Business Partner Group Level 1 (Highest Level) (0BP_GRP_A01). You can use this variable for the Sales Manager (SM) and Marketing Manager (MM) roles, for example (see also Top-Down and Bottom-Up Sales Planning).

·        Account Manager (BPACCMGR)

This variable is defined for the characteristic Business Partner Group Level 2 (0BP_GRP_A02). You can use this variable for the Account Manager (head office) role.

·        Account Manager for Channel and Region (BPRACMGR)

This variable is defined for the characteristic Business Partner Group Level 5 (0BP_GRP_A05). You can use this variable for the Regional Account Manager (region) role.

User-Independent Variable

You can also use the user-independent variable All Products (PRODALL). This variable is defined for the characteristic Product Group 1 (0CRM_PRGRP1).

Assign User

You assign the required variables to the users on the Variables tab page in the planning area CP: Sales and Promotions Plan/Actual (4TPM8000). Depending on the variables selected, the system generates worklists for the users who are responsible for the relevant planning. When the users call planning they only see the planning folders that are assigned and relevant to them. The characteristics to be planned, such as business partner group hierarchy, are also restricted accordingly.

Information about Customizing

·        The characteristics 0BP_GRP_A01, 0BP_GRP_A02, 0BP_GRP_A05, and 0CRM_PRGRP1, for which the variables BPMGR, BPACCMGR, BPRACMGR, and PRODALL are defined, are contained in the planning area CP: Sales and Promotions Plan/Actual (4TPM8000).

·        The variables BPMGR, BPACCMGR, BPRACMGR, and PRODALL are selected in the planning services under Origin of Responsibilities.

·        There are additional variables in this planning area for the characteristics 0BP_GRP_A01, 0BP_GRP_A02, 0BP_GRP_A05, and 0CRM_PRGRP1. These variables were generated using Planning Services. The additional variables are of the type User Exit (function module: UPX_EXEC_VARIABLE_FILL). In the planning levels, these generated variables are assigned to the characteristics that should be used for defining responsibilities.

Example

The generated variable UEX: Business Partner Group Level 1 (Highest Level) (BP_GRP07) exists in the planning area CP: Sales and Promotions Plan/Actual (4TPM8000)) for the characteristic Business Partner Group Level 1 (Highest Level) (0BP_GRP_A01).In the planning level Region (4TPM8100), the generated variable BP_GRP07 is assigned to the characteristic 0BP_GRP_A01.

·        The planning layouts in the planning area 4TPM8000 contain the characteristics to which the generated variables are assigned in the relevant planning level in the header.

·        The hierarchies for the planning are defined in the planning services (see Specification of Hierarchies). The hierarchy derivation determines the worklist values.
