Availability Check: Sales Order Creation
Features
Various functions are offered for the sales order entry that are designed for the specific requirements of the apparel and footwear industry. Different screens are available (for example, ATP order entry screen, ATP overview screen) which are designated for the entry of data or for calling specific information.
ATP Order entry screen
With the ATP order entry screen you can give your customer in telephone sales, for instance, an overview of the available quantities of a material per category and grid value. You can call the ATP order entry screen for a material by double-clicking on the requested delivery date of an item. The available quantity and/or replenishment lead time of the material is displayed for each grid value.
ATP Overview screen
If the goods that have been ordered by the customer are not available at the requested delivery date, the system automatically goes to a specific AFS overview screen, when entering the sales document. Here you can select different delivery proposals (one-time delivery, total quantity, delivery proposal). On this screen you can get information on the scope of check, the current ATP quantity or alternative availability situation in different plants, materials and grid values. The replenishment degree is displayed in percent values in the ATP overview screen. By displaying the replenishment degree in percentage and the alternative availability situation, you can inform the customers of possible delivery dates or alternatives. Thus you can contribute to a timely execution of business processes, which leads to a high level of customer satisfaction. The following options are available on the overview screen (see also
| Option |
Explanation |
|
Total quantity |
Choose total quantity if only one delivery should be carried out. During an ATP check with consideration of the replenishment lead time, the date is proposed on which the replenishment lead time ends if the stock does not cover the order quantity before this time. During an ATP check without consideration of the replenishment lead time, the system only considers the stock and the planned incoming stock. |
|
One-time |
Choose one-time delivery if only one delivery should be carried out. Place the cursor on the appropriate availability percentage. Quantities after the selected date are not taken into account. |
|
Proposal |
Choose proposal if you want to use the delivery dates the system has determined. The delivery can be carried out in several partial deliveries. |
|
Alternative plant |
To check whether more stock is available in an alternative plant, choose alternative plant. |
|
Alternative material |
To check whether more stock is available for an alternative material, choose alternative material. Remark: There must be an appropriate material determination master record for this (see Material Determination). |
|
Alternative DIM |
To check whether more stock is available for an alternative grid value, choose alternative dimension. Remark: There must be an appropriate material determination master record for this (see Material Determination). |
|
Scope of check |
Choose scope of check if you want to view the ATP scope of check (for example, to see if it is with or without replenishment lead time). |
ATP Simulation
In addition to the integration of the AFS-specific functionalities of the ATP check in the sales order, the ATP simulation enables you to get a quick overview of the availability situation of an AFS material. The availability of the AFS material is determined dependent on the sales document type, sales area, plant and requested delivery date.
ATP and Categories
If you have defined categories for your material (see
Categories), you can use the categories to assign the stock to the requirements. The assignment of the requirements to the stock categories is carried out by the coverage strategy during the MRP. The results of the ATP check are based on the settings of the coverage strategy, among others.
With the help of your coverage strategy you determine for example the following sequence for your categories: You get a requirement (from a sales order) for category
The stock is displayed in the ATP order entry screen according to the settings of the coverage strategy. If a customer accepts quality 2 so that they can get the requested delivery quantity on the requested delivery date, the stock equals the total of the stock categories. In the AFS additional data (view Sales à Environment à AFS additional data à field: requirements category from ATP assignment) you can determine whether such a consumption of stock categories is permitted for this customer or whether the results of the ATP check are fixed. In the latter case you ensure that the customer gets the categories that have been determined by the ATP check (see
AFS Additional Data in the Customer Master).Availability Check and Order Scheduling
The order scheduling (see
Order Scheduling) is an additional process in the AFS sales processing to optimize the delivery dates of the schedule lines in the sales order. For this you can create and use rules so that special customer requests or general business requirements are taken into account. You can use the order scheduling to influence the confirmed delivery dates that result from the ATP check.Availability Overview and AFS Stock/ Requirements List
The main task of the material requirements planning in the AFS system is to ensure the material availability at SKU level. The AFS requirements planning uniquely assigns requirement quantities to the available stock with the help of grid values and categories, or it creates procurement proposals at SKU level for non-existing stock (see
Requirements Planning). Depending on the settings of the master data and the scope of check the availability check determines one or several delivery dates. The stock is displayed in the availability check according to different rules than in the AFS stock/ requirements list. In the ATP check the display of the ATP stock depends on the scope of check (see
Availability Check – Control Parameters) and the requested delivery date. If the requested delivery date is outside the replenishment lead time, sufficient stock is always displayed. It is assumed that the required stock can be replenished. In the AFS stock/ requirements list the stock (and also the created procurement proposals) can be distributed via different statuses (for example in status A – unrestricted-use or F – fixed: shipping). The display of the stock can therefore be different in the ATP and the AFS stock/ requirements list.AFS Restrictions – in ATP
The R/3 Standard function backorder is not supported for AFS materials.
