Master Data and Settings for Quality Collaboration
This section gives an overview on the settings that a customer needs to make in SAP Supply Network Collaboration (SAP SNC).
You must create the following master data:
Business partners for customer and supplier
Internet users for customer and supplier
Customer location and ship-from location
Location products at the customer location
To use alerts for quality notifications, you must activate the relevant alert types in Customizing for Supply Network Collaboration

The customer creates number ranges for the following types of quality notification number:
Quality notification number
The customer maintains the number range attribute for the quality notification number on the Web user interface (Web UI) (in the customer view) under , by specifying the interval type QN
(Quality Notification
).
The customer maintains a number range interval for the quality notification number on the Web UI under .
Technical quality notification number
The customer maintains the number range for the technical quality notification number in Customizing for Supply Network Collaboration
under .

Suppliers and customers use codes to classify the subject of a quality notification and the problem being reported in a defect item, for example. You define codes in Customizing for Supply Network Collaboration
under . For more information, see Codes.
The notification type is used when integrating with a back-end ERP system to classify the quality notification. If necessary, a customer can create his or her own notification types for use with his or her back-end system.
If a quality notification is created in the customer back-end system, only the customer can make status changes and this can only be done in his or her back-end system. You can, however, allow a supplier to change quality notification statuses for quality notifications created by a customer. To do this, select the AllowSupStatusChg
checkbox when you specify the assignment of a catalog profile to a notification type for a supplier. For more information, see Customizing for Supply Network Collaboration

You can specify the default maximum number of hits to be used for queries on the quality notification overview screen for a particular user by adding the /SCF/QN_MAXROWS
parameter to the user profile in transaction SU01 (User Maintenance
)
You specify default process types for inbound XML messages in Customizing for Supply Network Collaboration
, under . In this activity, you set the Supplier Collaboration
process type for the QualityIssueNotificationSUITENotification - Inbound
message type.
You specify default process types for outbound XML messages in Customizing for Supply Network Collaboration
, under . In this activity, you set the Supplier Collaboration
process type for the QualityIssueNotificationSUITENotification - Outbound
message type.

You can hide quality notification tasks from specific processor types. The system does not display the hidden quality notification tasks of the customer for the supplier on the supplier view of the Quality Notification Details
Web screen. You can make these settings for quality notification documents in Customizing for Supply Network Collaboration under .

, under that you can use to modify the processing of QNs.
