Desired Scheduling Date/Time When scheduling or rescheduling operations and orders , the system uses the desired scheduling date/time as a starting point and looks for a scheduling date/time in the planning direction you have set. A desired scheduling date/time is only relevant to an object that you have selected for scheduling (for example, to the order that you want to create, or to the operation you want to move to another date/time). Other objects may be affected by the scheduling or rescheduling of the selected object, for example, by relationships that must be observed. The system must therefore reschedule additional objects under certain circumstances. The system determines the dates/times for these objects automatically. They are based on dates/times of the objects that have been selected for scheduling.
The following table shows how the desired scheduling date/time is defined – depending on the application.

Manual rescheduling on the detailed scheduling planning board |
You specify the desired scheduling date/time for the activity, the operation, or the order using Drag&Drop. |
Manual rescheduling in the resource planning table |
You specify a desired scheduling date/time with either Drag&Drop or Pick&Drop, or you enter the desired scheduling date/time directly in the operation list. |
Scheduling using the scheduling function Reschedule |
You can use this scheduling function on the detailed scheduling planning board, in the resource planning table, and in the production planning run. You define the desired scheduling date/time in the detailed scheduling strategy. |
Scheduling with detailed scheduling heuristics |
You can use detailed scheduling heuristics on the detailed scheduling planning board, in the resource planning table, and in the production planning run. The desired scheduling dates/times are heuristic-dependent. |
