 Defining the Planning Period

Use

The following application-specific basic time components exist for detailed scheduling:

A planning period in which the schedule can be changed (that is, in which operations and orders can be scheduled, rescheduled or deallocated)

An earliest possible start date/time at which an operation or order can be scheduled or rescheduled

A latest possible date/time at which an order or operation can be scheduled or rescheduled

The following table groups together the planning period and the earliest and latest scheduling dates/times for different applications in Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling

The earliest start date/time can be as far back in the past as desired.

This is the latest possible end date/time for an operation.

Period between the earliest and latest date/time

Manual and automatic creation and rescheduling of orders in the APO system

Conversion of Supply Network Planning orders to PP/DS orders

Today’s date/time plus or minus the offset time

You define the offset time in the detailed scheduling strategy .

This is the latest possible end date/time for an operation.

Period between the earliest and latest date/time

The later of the following dates/times:

Today’s date/time plus/minus offset time

Start of the planning period

End of the planning period

This is the latest possible start date/time for an operation.

You define the planning period in the time profile. You can change it on the initial screen. You can only reschedule those operations that begin in the planning period.

The later of the following dates/times:

Today’s date/time plus/minus offset time

Start of the planning horizon

End of the planning horizon

You define the planning horizon when calling up the product planning table.

You maintain time profiles in Customizing for Detailed Scheduling or in the area menu for Production Planning under Environment Current Settings
