Business Operations
Use
You use the Business Operations to make postings that are not compatible with a contract.
Features
The following business operations are available:
The disbursement and capital transfer functions are also business operations. However, because they are so complex, they are treated as independent functions in the system and not covered by the business operation concept.
The following business operation functions are available to you in the Business Operations Workplace:
A business operation can pass through several statuses; in other words, it is first entered, then if necessary activated and then posted or executed. Alternatively, you can activate or post/execute a business operation immediately, or post/execute business operations that have been entered without activating them first.
The following statuses are possible:
The business operation is newly created, the relevant data has been entered but has not been saved, activated or posted/executed yet.
When you save the business operation after having entered the data the loan is not affected, that is no changes are made to the contract. The data is temporarily saved ready for further processing. However, you can simulate the effect of the flow records on the cash flow calculation by choosing Cash Flow or Cash Flow with Payoff. In the Entered status you have the option of changing the data.
When you activate a business operation, the system writes the flows to the database as planned records. The flow records are fixed and can no longer be changed. In the case of the unscheduled repayment, charges and single postings functions you can create a copy of the business operation by choosing Copy business operation. This then has the entered status again. It is possible to change the flows of the copy.
This status does not apply to the function Borrower Change, since this is always a backdated activity.
A business operation with the status Entered or Activated has been deleted, also deleting all of the flows. The history of the business operation cannot be traced. You can therefore only delete a business operation if it has not been posted or executed yet.
When you post a business operation, records are saved on the database as actual records.

Flows entered using the single postings function (and condition-based planned records with the posting indicator 21) can be posted manually using the Post Individual Records function.
You can also post payoffs, charges and single postings automatically (with posting control key 01) using the Post Planned Records function.
If you execute a Borrower Change, the main borrower is changed, however the contract remains and retains all of the data and the history. The execution of a Borrower Change does not necessarily mean that a posting is made.
The reversal function reverses the posted documents for the business operation. In this case, the history can still be traced. You can only reverse a business operation if it has already been posted.
The business operation has been reset from within the borrower change function. In this case, the history can still be traced. You can only reset a business operation if it has already been executed.

If additional flows exist, you must reverse these manually when the borrower change is reset by using the reversal function.
The business operations are linked to a staggered release procedure based on the principle of multiple control.
If the release procedure is activated, business operations must be released between the statuses entered and activated. In other words, if a business operation has entered status, it must be activated for it to be forwarded automatically to the Workplace for Business Operations inbox for release. After the release, the business operation has activated status. Activated status is a prerequisite for posting.
If the release function is activated, you forward the business operation to the inbox of the Business Workplace using the To be released function. From there, it is released. Directly from the release function you can save, and if necessary activate or post the business operation. You can save the borrower change directly from within the release function, but you must then execute the borrower change from within the borrower change function itself. The system displays the release status to you in the Business Operation Header. You cannot change this.
If you want to reverse a business operation, you need to do so using the Reverse Individual Activity function. If the release is activated for this particular business operation, the business operation is automatically forwarded to the inbox of the Workplace for Business Operations when you execute the reversal function. When you execute the release, the system posts, that is reverses the data.
If you want to reset an executed borrower change when the release is activated, you need to forward the business operation to the inbox of the Workplace for Business Operations using the button To be released. (The Reset button is hidden.) You can save the business operation directly from the release function and then reset it from within the borrower change function.

If the loan is assigned to a finance project, you need to first release all of the loans belonging to the finance project before you can reset these from within the borrower change function in one activity.
