Use

You can use this business process if you have entered specifications, phrases, or reports for the SAP Product Safety component on a number of systems. Both the source and the target systems must behave as SAP Systems. As the data in an SAP System may also be required in one of the other SAP Systems, data exchange via Application Link Enabling (ALE) allows data to be distributed between networked systems.

ALE can be used as an alternative means rather than using import and export to exchange data. Data exchange via import and export is preferable if you only want to exchange data between systems occasionally. Data exchange via ALE, however, makes initial distribution and delta matchup that can be automated possible.
