Maintenance Plan for Calibrating Measurement Instruments

Purpose

For this example a measuring instrument is created as a piece of equipment. The maintenance plan is used to generate a calibration order for the inspection of the measuring instrument. Automatic release enables the immediate creation of an inspection lot. Your measurement results are recorded in the inspection lot. As the test results lie within the area of tolerance, the system defaults the usability of the measuring instrument. You confirm this by entering the usage decision. The individual order operations are confirmed, then the order is settled and closed.

This example assumes that the measuring instrument is checked at regular intervals and that everything is in working order. We describe how to handle order processing for a defective measuring instrument in a different example.
