Material Management in the Project Builder 
Use
As well as creating and editing material assignments (see for example
Creating Project Objects) in the Project Builder, you can also trigger several material management functions
Features
After you have selected a material component in the structure overview or the component overview the following functions are available:

Some of these functions are only available from particular screens, for examplke the component overview

Availability check |
Edit ® Availability -> Material |
If you have set availability checking for the Project System in Customizing, this starts an availability check for the selected component. For more information, see Material Availability Check. |
Reset availability check |
Edit -> Availability ->Reset material |
Resets the confirmed dates and quantities from the availability check. |
Capacity availability check |
Edit -> Availability -> Capacity |
If capacity requirements are generated for an activity, this checks whether the capacity is available (no overload) at the required time. For more information, see
Capacity Requirements in Projects and
Capacity Availability Check. |
Change procurement type |
Edit -> Component -> Procurement |
If applicable, you can change the procurement type (e.g. reservation for network or reservation for WBS element). See, Managing Stocks of Material Components. |
Display purchase requisition |
Edit > Component -> Purchase Requisition |
Displays a purchase requisition if one exists. |
Change delivery address |
Edit > Component -> Delivery Address |
Changes the delivery address for third-party orders only. |
Change invoicing plan |
Edit > Component -> Invoicing plan |
Changes the invoicing plan for externally procured components. For more information, see
Invoicing Plans in Networks. |
BOM explosion |
Edit > Component -> Explode BOM |
You can only execute this function from the component overview. For more information, see Exploding the Bill of Material. |
Reassign a component to another activity |
Edit > Component -> Reassign |
You can only execute this function from the component overview. You can only reassign components within the same network. |
Set the duration of the activity to the component lead time |
Edit > Component -> Transfer delivery time -> duration |
You can only execute this function from the component overview. For more information, see Aligning Activity Duration with Material Lead Time. |
Align requirement date with activity finish date |
Edit > Component -> Align with finish date |
You can only execute this function from the component overview. If you want to set the duration to the component lead time, you have to align the requirements date with the finish date. |
Copy component data |
Edit > Component -> Copy component data |
Copies the date from one component to another in the same network. See Copying Component Data. |
Batch management |
Edit -> Component -> Batch management |
Various batch management functions are available under this menu point. You can only execute these functions from the component overview. For more information, see
Batch Management. |
Assign PS text |
Edit -> Component -> Assign PS text |
If a PS text has been assigned to the activity, you can also assign it to the selected component. |
Delete PS text assignment |
Edit -> Component -> Delete PS text assignment |
Deletes the above PS text assignment. |
