The following enhancements were made:

SAP HTML5 Visual Enterprise Viewer Integration

As of SAP ME 15.1 SP01, you can use SAP HTML5 Visual Enterprise Viewer in Visual Test and Repair and Work Instruction Viewer plug-ins. You do not need to download and install any software to the client PC to view 2D/3D models in the .vds file format.

2D Barcode Enhancements

As of SAP ME 15.1 SP01, the barcode parser recognizes the {GS}, {RS}, and {EOT} string values as an alternative means of parsing characters that do not interact well with the web browsers. You need only to change the way the 2D scanner decodes the values.

As of SAP ME 15.1 SP01, you can automatically select the component and populate assembly data fields in one 2D barcode scan into the Barcode field of Assembly Point (CT500) if Component is one of the fields included in your 2D barcode.

Work Instruction Attachment to a BOM Component

You can attach work instructions to a BOM component using SAP ERP integration. The work instruction icon for a BOM component appears in the Component List for the Touch and Standard POD.

The BOM Component Viewer POD plug-in (BOM_COMP_VIEWER) is new. You can use this POD plug-in to view SAP ERP BOM component documents transferred to SAP ME as work instructions.

The BOM_VIEWER_PLUGIN_ID activity rule is new to the Component List POD plug-in. If the activity rule is set to BOM_COMP_VIEWER, BOM Component Viewer opens on choosing the View button in the Component List.

In the Touch POD, a work instruction icon with a green checkmark on it appears on the View button next to the work instruction for which you have selected the Log Viewing checkbox in Work Instruction Maintenance. In the Standard POD, a work instruction icon with a green checkmark on it appears in the Viewed column next to the work instruction for which you have selected the Log Viewing checkbox in Work Instruction Maintenance.

The SHOW_READ_WI_AT_END activity rule is new to the Work Instruction List POD plug-in. If the activity rule is set to YES, work instructions that you have read appear at the bottom of the Work Instruction List in the Touch and Standard PODs. If the activity rule is set to NO, work instructions that you have read appear in the sequence order in the Work Instruction List.
