Performing the Initial TestIn this process phase, you inspect the initial sample. Based on the results of the initial test, you then decide whether or not to continue the stability study. By performing the initial test, you can make sure that initial sample and subsequent stability samples (which may be created from quantity of initial sample) will meet your specific requirements for the stability study, before you proceed with the actual stability testing phase.
You have completed the following activities:
You have created a stability study .
You have created an initial sample for this stability study.
You have confirmed the initial sample .
You have created an inspection plan that contains all of the possible inspection characteristics that you will need to perform the initial test.
Note
For the initial test , you can create an inspection plan using the standard QM function for creating an inspection plan or you can use the corresponding function in the Engineering Workbench .
For the subsequent stability tests , however, you must use the functions of the Engineering Workbench to create and process the inspection plans. For this reason, SAP recommends that you use the Engineering Workbench to maintain all inspection plans for all tests in the stability study.
You create an inspection lot for the initial sample . To do this:
You select an inspection plan to used for the initial test
You choose the inspection characteristics to be included in the inspection plan (flexible inspection specifications)
You select the inspection lot in the worklist for results recording .
You inspect the initial sample and record inspection results.
You complete the initial test by making the usage decision for the inspection lot.
The usage decision you made for the inspection lot determines whether or not the stability study will be continued. If you have decided to continue the stability study, you can proceed with the next process phase, Planning the Stability Tests .
If you decided to discontinue the stability study, the system will automatically call up the stability study in the change mode, allowing you to execute appropriate follow-up functions in the action box (for example, to cancel the stability study).
