Creating an Inspection Lot for the Initial Sample

Use

This procedure describes how you can manually create an inspection lot for the initial sample, in order to perform the initial test. Once you have created the inspection lot, you can inspect the initial sample, record your inspection results, and then complete the inspection. The results of the initial test will help you decide whether or not you want to continue the stability study using this physical sample.

Prerequisites

You have completed the following activities:

  • You created an inspection plan that contains all of the inspection characteristics you will need for the initial test.

Note Note

You can create an inspection plan using the standard QM transactions for inspection planning or the Engineering Workbench .

End of the note.
  • You set up the inspection plan to allow the processing of physical samples (the Inspection points field in the inspection plan header must contain the value for physical samples).

Procedure

  1. From the SAP Easy Access menu, choose Start of the navigation path Logistics Next navigation step Quality Management Next navigation step Stability Study Next navigation step Stability Study Next navigation step Change End of the navigation path .

The initial screen for changing a stability study appears.

  1. On the initial screen, enter the key of the stability study you want to process and then choose Enter .

The screen for changing the stability study data appears.

  1. In the action box on the right side of the screen, choose the follow-up function Inspection Lot for Initial Test .

A dialog box for selecting the inspection specification appears. This dialog box contains a number of fields that are filled with values proposed by the system.

  1. If necessary, change the proposed value for the Inspection Type field.

  2. Use the possible entries help for the Task List Group field to select a task list group for the initial test.

  3. If necessary, enter a short text for the inspection lot. You can edit this text later when you process the inspection lot in the worklist.

  4. Choose Create Inspection Lot .

A dialog box for selecting inspection characteristics is displayed. This dialog box contains a list of all inspection characteristics contained in the selected task list along with their default inspection specifications.

  1. If necessary, change the default values (for example, tolerances) of the inspection characteristics you want use for the initial test.

  2. If you change a default value for one or more inspection characteristics, choose Check to verify the validity of your changes before you copy the inspection characteristics.

  3. Select the inspection characteristics you want to copy into the inspection lot and then choose Copy (or Copy All if you selected all characteristics for testing).

Result

The stability study is saved, an inspection lot is created, and the selected inspection characteristics (with any changed values) are copied into the inspection lot. You can continue the stability study with the following activities:
