Manually Entering a Transport OrderIn the clinical work station, the OR plan, or the OR schedule, you select the desired patients for whom you wish to create a transport order with a patient.
Depending on the performing organizational unit (OU), you select or .
Note
You can also enter transport orders without patients. To do this you select or .
In the clinical work station you use the Create Transport Order
pushbutton in the Occupancy
, Arrivals
, Departures
or Outpatient Clinic/Service Facility
views to create a transport order.
The menu option initializes the new Transport Order standard as Transport Out.
Note
You should note that the system administrator must define the views and available pushbuttons in a view.
See Transport Orders View Type - Transport Order Overview
For the outpatient clinic, service facility and operating room, there is another menu option: or . This menu option creates a new transport order for the selected patient, and initializes the transport order as a return transport as standard.
If there is already an uncompleted return or further transport with the current outpatient clinic/service facility as the starting point, the system will offer this transport order to change.
In the Create Transport Order
dialog box you enter the necessary data.
The system will use the master patient data and the movements of the selected patient for the patient data. This cannot be changed.
If you select transport orders without patients, the system will not display these fields.
Select the transport category: Initial, return or further transport.
You can change the transport category by selecting one of the pushbuttons Initial
, Return
, or Further Transport
. The entry function will then respond in the following ways:
If you change the transport category from initial to return or from return to initial, the system will swap the starting point and the destination OU. The pick-up and drop-off times will remain unchanged.
The pushbutton for the transport category which is currently selected is indicated with a
(-
).
You can select the desired appointment in the overview of all appointments which are planned for the patient on the day the transport order was created or later, and which have not yet been completed.
An appointment is not carried out, if no visit exists for this appointment. Using the Register Patient
or Surgery Started
functions as well as the documentation functions (perform services, etc.) you can interpret a visit for an appointment as completed.
If the transport is to one of these appointments, you select the desired appointment in the overview using the pushbutton To or the pushbutton From
. If the transport order is an initial transport, the To
pushbutton is available. If the transport order is a return transport, the From
pushbutton is available. If the transport order is a further transport, both pushbuttons are available.
You can also create the transport order with a reference to an appointment of a provisional patient.
You enter the Pick-Up From
(starting point) and the Bring To
(destination) of the transport order. An OU and, optionally, a building unit (room) define both locations.
If, in connection with the Pick Up From
and Bring To
fields, you enter rooms, the input help for the room information contains the rooms primarily and secondarily assigned to the organizational units. See Maintaining Organizational Unit-to-Building Units Assignments
When you create a transport order, the system will simplify entry by inserting the OU of the current work station as the starting point, for example the care unit where the patient is included in the occupancy, arrivals, and departures. You can also manually enter and change the starting point and also the destination.
If you wish to enter a transport order for an initial transport to a patient's appointment, you only need to select the appointment as the target appointment to determine the destination. In this case the appointment determines the OU to which the patient should be transported. You cannot manually change this.
If you wish to create a transport order for a return transport or a further transport to an appointment, the selected starting appointment determines the OU from which the transporter should pick up the patient.
You manually enter the Pick-Up From - At/On
(pick-up time) and the Bring To - At/On
(destination time). To the right of the pick-up and destination time fields, you will see a Now
pushbutton which you can use to enter the current system time as the pick-up or destination time.
The system will, however, also offer an automatic calculation of these times.
See Calculate Pick-Up and Target Time / Transfer Times
This calculation is only a proposal. You can override this proposal.
You select
(Delete
), to remove the entries in the Pick-Up From
(OU, room, at/on) and Bring To
(OU, room, at/on) fields. The system will also delete the connection to a selected starting or target appointment.
You enter the transport service OU
. To minimize the entry effort, the system administrator can store this transport service OU in the OU-Related Parameter N1FDOEFA for every care unit/outpatient clinic/service facility, which enters transport orders.
The Status
field displays the current status of the transport order. Below the Status
field, you can see the date and time at which this status was set. You select
(Status History
), to display every status which the transport order has had, along with the user who set each status.
You can assign the transport order to one or more transporters. Input help is available for this.
In the Comment
field you enter the comment you wish to add to the transport order. This is the only field which you can still change when the order has been completed.
