Editing Appointments (Appointment Editor)
This function provides an overview for editing appointments and therefore enables common use in all applications for appointment planning in SAP Patient Management (IS-H) and the clinical system (i.s.h.med).
The function is available for the outpatient clinics and service facilities anywhere that appointments must be created, changed, or displayed.
The system saves the appointment data when creating an appointment-based visit with Actual
status. Most appointment data (e.g. date, time, treatment OU, treatment person, and treatment room) can then no longer be changed using the planning function. The appointment can therefore only be changed to a certain extent. If you change the visit data (movement), the system will not change the appointment.
You can create an admission or a visit for an admission appointment or for a treatment appointment in the Clinical Process Builder.
Note
You can display the appointment data for an appointment-based visit on the Appointment Data
subscreen in the Clinical Process Builder.
You can create, change, or display an appointment in a view of the Outpatient Clinic/Service Facility
view type, in the planning grid, or in an order item in the clinical order.
Select the appointment in the view of the clinical order or in the planning grid and then choose
(Change Appointment
) or choose
(Change Appointment
) in the order item of the clinical order.
The Maintain Appointment
dialog box appears. Here you can create, change, and display surgery, treatment, and admission appointments.
Note
The system will display the Patient Data area when creating an appointment, in the following ways:
Patient with patient master data: Expanded
Patient with provisional patient master data: Compressed
If you change/display an appointment, the system will always display the patient data area in compressed form. Choose
(Expand Data Areas
) to display the patient data.
See also Provisional Patient Master Data
You enter the necessary appointment data on the Appointment
tab page or change the necessary appointment data.
Note
You must ensure that the OU of the appointment is entered in the Treatment / Nursing OU
field.
When checking or saving, the system will check the scheduling type against the OU of the appointment. If necessary, it may automatically make a change using the time slot or the OU parameter OE-DISPTYP.
You can use the institution-related, time-independent system parameter N1DPTM
you optionally control the presetting of the appointment time.
When you enter an admission appointment, the system will only check the compliance to the admission quota if the system parameter N1AACCHK
is set (N1AACCHK
has the value “X”).
If you enter a room for the appointment, which is not stored in the system as a planning object, the system will determine the planning object of the uniquely assignable OU. If the room is assigned to several OUs (see Maintain Assignment of Organizational Units and Building Units), the system will display an input help for the selection of the OU.
On this tab page, you can also enter the clinical data for the appointment:
Medical text (treatment notes)
Priority (urgency of treatment, e.g. acute)
Transport type (transport type of patient, e.g. lying down)
On this tab page you should note the following deviations concerning admission appointments, compared with surgery and treatment appointments.
The system does not display individual fields which are not relevant for the admission appointments, such as Duration, Change Reason.
Individual fields such as, for example, Visit Type, Treatment Category have different data origins.
The presetting of the nursing OU and the department, as well as the input helps for these fields, are based on transaction NV2000.
The input help for the Nursing OU displays the entire OU hierarchy.
The system presets the department using the hierarchical assignment of the nursing (treatment) OU.
The input help for the department is also not restricted in any way.
If all services for the appointment exist, the system will display the Service tab page with all medical services which should be performed during this appointment. You can use the Business Add-In (BAdI) ISHMED_APPED_SRV_LIST
to display additional customer-specific data.
For more information, see the Implementation Guide
under .
Note
If the clinical system (i.s.h.med) is not active, the Services tab page is also not available. In that case, the system only displays provisional services of SAP Patient Management (IS-H) that you can also edit there (for example, cancel).
If you activate i.s.h.med, the system displays medical services instead of provisional services. Note that you can neither edit nor change the displayed medical services.
Note
This function is available to you if you have activated the business function Clinical System Situation-Based Clinical Documentation (ISHMED_SCD
).
On the Notification of Admission /Log
tab page you can determine whether the patient must be informed of the appointment change. You also receive information concerning when the appointment was created, changed, or canceled.
The system checks the validity of the planning employee against the date when the appointment was created or last changed.
Note
If you use the clinical system (i.s.h.med), the system will display the identification of the employee who last planned the appointment on the Notification of Admission /Log
tab page. If you do not document an employee during appointment planning, the system will enter the ID of the user who was logged onto the system when the appointment was last planned.
You can create an admission or a visit for the appointment.
Save the appointment.
You have created or changed an appointment for the order item. You can also cancel the appointment. Choose
(Cancel Appt
).
