Entering Dangerous-Goods-Relevant Data on the Handling Unit You use the
Selection of Dangerous Goods Data for Packaging
dialog to enter dangerous-goods-relevant data for packaging on the handling unit in the shipping document.
The
Selection of Dangerous Goods Data for Packaging
dialog box is called from the shipping document as a packaging material proposal for packing dangerous-goods-relevant document items in a handling unit. The handling unit with the entered dangerous-good-relevant data is then created. After that you can pack the document items in the created handling unit.
With the
Selection of Dangerous Goods Data for Packaging
dialog you can also assign exceptions to dangerous goods regulations for the handling unit (see also
Assigning Exceptions to DG Regulations to the HU Header
) or for the handling unit item (see also
Assigning Exceptions to DG Regulations to the HU Item
).
Note
If you want to use the mixed packing checks and packing checks on the handling unit, refer to the information in the
Dangerous Goods Checks on Handling Units
document (see also
Dangerous Goods Checks on Handling Units
). These checks are integrated in the handling unit process.
In Customizing for
Dangerous Goods Management,
you set the
HU Integration Active
indicator in the
Activate Dangerous Goods Checks
IMG activity (see also
Activating Handling Unit Integration
).
For at least one of the document items to be packed a dangerous goods indicator profile was entered in the material master.
On the
SAP Easy Access
screen, choose
The
Change Outbound Delivery: Initial Screen
appears.
Enter the outbound delivery number in the
Outbound Delivery
field.
Confirm your entries.
The
Change Delivery
: Overview
dialog box appears. The delivery contains at least one delivery item with a dangerous goods indicator profile in its material master.
Choose
Edit -> Pack
from the menu or choose
with the quick info text
Pack
.
The
Process Handling Units for Outbound Delivery
dialog box appears.
Select the material you want to pack and choose
Extras -> Allowed Packaging Material
or choose
with the quick info text
Select Allowed Packaging Material
.
The
Selection of Dangerous Goods Data for Packing
screen appears.
In the
Selection of Dangerous Goods Data for Packaging
dialog, you can specify the dangerous-goods-relevant data for the handling unit being created. To do so, you define the type of dangerous goods packaging (inner, outer, or single packaging) in the
EDG Pack. Level
field and the category of the instruction for enclosure in the
Cat. of Encl. Instr.
field (for example, "P" for package or "LQ" for limited quantities). You can then use pushbuttons
Default Pack Code
(see also
Specifying Packaging Code Proposals
) and
Default Packaging Material
(see also
Specify Packaging Material Proposal
) to generate system proposals for the allowed packaging codes and the selection of allowed packaging materials based on them.
In addition, you can assign exceptions to dangerous goods regulations to the handling unit or handling unit item in the
Selection of Dangerous Goods Data for Packaging
dialog.
After specifying all dangerous-goods-relevant data, confirm your entries. A handling unit is created.
The materials to be packed can then be packed in the handling unit that was created (to do so, select the handling unit that was created the materials to be packed, and choose
with the quick info text
Pack
.
When you save the delivery, the handling unit that was created and the handling unit items are saved.
