Dangerous Goods Checks of Handling Units

Use

This function makes it possible to check document items using dangerous goods criteria when you pack the items into a handling unit in a shipping document.

The HU Integration Active indicator is set in the Activate Dangerous Goods Checks IMG activity.

In Customizing for Dangerous Goods Management, you set up a dangerous goods check schema for this context in the Assign DG Check Schemas for Shipping Documents IMG activity.

Features

When you pack document items in a handling unit in a shipping document, the system automatically starts the mixed packing checks (dangerous goods check methods with check method types 04, 05) and the packing checks (dangerous goods check methods with check method types 06, 07). If you have set up a dangerous goods check schema for the current context, the system performs it.

The mixed packing checks and packing checks are called at the following points in the process:

  • When the special dialog for Selection of Dangerous Goods for Packaging is called (see Entering Dangerous-Goods-Relevant Data on the Handling Unit), the system automatically starts the mixed packing checks.

  • When you create the handling unit, the system automatically starts the mixed packing checks and the packing checks.

  • When you pack the individual document items in the handling unit created, the system automatically starts the mixed packing checks and the packing checks.

  • When you leave the Dangerous Goods tab page (see Changing Dangerous-Goods-Relevant Data on the Handling Unit), the system automatically starts the mixed packing checks and the packing checks.

  • When you save a shipping document, along with the additional dangerous goods checks, the system also automatically starts the mixed packing checks and packing checks for the dangerous-goods-relevant handling units that were created.
