Description

This node groups the performance and health data that relates to the front-end activities. A front end is an internal component that first handle an incoming request, such as a communication endpoint or a message queue consumer.

A front-end activity is the processing of the incoming messages or requests. The incoming requests are calls to the services exposed by your monitored SAP CC system. The front ends consume back ends and instance resources during their activities. See the associated nodes, "Backends" and "SAP CC", for more information.

A front-end activity could be considered at system or instance level. The front end of an instance could be consumed by another instance of the same system and thus is not a front-end of the system, it is a resource consumption of the system.

The public communication endpoints are grouped according to their technical interfaces:

  • Message TCP
  • Web Services (WS)
  • and HTTP Communication Interface (HCI)

Important Note

Since release 4.1 of SAP CC Core Server, the metrics related to the Message TCP technical interface are grouped under the SAP CC principal node.

Do not consider the Message node in the metric hierarchy.

The asynchronous communications requires cross-instance monitoring.

Note

There is no metric defined in SAP CC at this level. Consider the subnodes in the metric hierarchy.
