Logic Tree

Definition

The performance metrics related to the computation during charging and refilling operations

Technical Data

Consider the technical information about this metric subnode in the metric hierarchy:

Software Product and Version SAP Convergent Charging 5.0
Path SAP Convergent Charging | SAP CC | Logic Tree

Description

This node groups the performance and health data that relates to dynamic pricing (rating) and other computations.

The logic trees are part of the rating process and includes the price plan of the charges, the refill logic and the allowance logic.

The performance metrics are based on the response time and the number of execution. The nodes and metrics are not related to the result of the logic trees. The nodes and metrics do not depend on the associated charge plan or contract item. The nodes and metrics do not reflect the context of execution: date, item or event values, parameters and counters. The context of execution could have a high level of incidence to the performance of the logics.

The response time includes the logic execution and also the execution of the sub logics such as allowances and macros. The response time does not include dependent operations such as retrieving the data from the cache/database or applying the logic outcome possibly data files generation, counter or session updates, allowance creation.

The logic tree, also called decision tree, is a set of instructions used to compute a cost or defines the rules and conditions of use of an event in the context of a contract item. The performance data does not reflects the context of execution

Available logic trees are:

  • Allowance Logic
  • Charge, more precisely the Price Plan
  • Refill Logic

Note

The metrics are available for all the convergent charging and refilling operations except, the stateless rating, the blank charging, and the check limit operations. The deprecated operation types are not monitored: prerating, get estimated price.

Note

There is no metric defined in SAP CC at this level. Consider the subnodes in the metric hierarchy.
