IEC Database References
SAP CC IEC Database
SAP CC IEC Database is the back-end database of SAP CC Import/Export Connector (IEC) of the SAP Convergent Charging software product provided by SAP SE for your industries.
It contains transactional data related to the business managed by an import/export connector (IEC) application customized in the system landscape:
- Service consumption information (customer service usage) in the form of extended chargeable items (XCIs) exported by an IEC application
You implement the IEC database in an offline charging scenario to:
- Provide offline acquisition services with low volume data and basic functions
- Test batch charging operations by simulating an offline mediation system
Note
In most cases, the IEC database is not installed in your system landscape. You need to install the IEC database only if you want an IEC application to collect and store some customer service usages in the form of extended chargeable items (XCIs).
Consult the documentation of the CAT Tool user interface (SAP site) for more information about the use of the Export to Database Action and the Import XCI from Database Action components in a scenario script.
Recommendation
Note that other implementations are now preferred such as using SAP CC BART Server or SAP Convergent Invoicing (SAP CI) with the Consumption Item Management function enabled in SAP ERP/FI-CA.
Refer to the SAP CC Library (Application Help) for more information.
