Grouping Expenditures FM Account Assignments

Use

You can group together individual FM account assignments from the expenditures cover pool for priority checking by the active availability control by assigning the FM account assignments to grouping characteristics.

When making a posting to an expenditures FM account assignment that is part of the expenditures cover pool, the active availability control first checks whether the FM account assignments, which have the same grouping characteristic, still have sufficient budget available.

You cannot change the additional sequence that controls the order of the active availability control and the use of budget from the FM account assignments eligible for cover.

By making a grouping, you stipulate only that the budget from expenditures account assignments with the same characteristics is used first, before the budget from FM account assignments with different or no characteristics is used.

Prerequisites

You must have defined characteristics groups and grouping characteristics in Funds Management Government Customizing. For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Funds Management Government in section Grouping Characteristics .
