Edit Cover Pool

Prerequisites

To be able to edit a cover pool, you must create a number range interval for it in the Customizing of Funds Management and assign this interval to your FM area. In addition, you must also maintain a budget memo with the Automated Cover Pool budget memo type (11) or the Manual Cover Pool budget memo type (10).

For more information on these settings, see these sections of the Funds Management Government IMG:

  • Create Number Ranges for Cover Pools

  • Assign Number Range for Cover Pools to FM Area

  • Create Budget Memos

The system differentiates between expenditures and revenues cover pools. The prerequisites above apply for both types of cover pool. From a business perspective, it is not advisable to offer all functions for both types of cover pool . Only for expenditures cover pools can you control the sequence in which the budget for expenditures FM account assignments that are subject to cover is used. If you want to group together several FM account assignments within a cover pool for a priority check by the active availability control, you must define group characteristics in Funds Management Customizing.

For more information, see the Funds Management Government IMG, section

  • Defining Grouping Characteristics.

Create Cover Pool

Choose Start of the navigation path Accounting Next navigation step Public Sector Management Next navigation step Funds Management Next navigation step Master Data Next navigation step Control (Former Budgeting) Next navigation step Cover Eligibility Next navigation step Edit Cover Pool. End of the navigation path

Enter an FM area and a fiscal year and choose .

Choose New Entries and enter the necessary data.

If you enter a fund , only the FM account assignments that are part of this fund can participate in the cover pool. All budget FM account assignments can participate in this cover pool if you do not enter a fund.

For expenditures cover pools, the Budget Memo must have the Automated cover pool budget memo type (11) or the Manual cover pool budget memo type (10), but, for revenues cover pools, only budget memo type 11 is permitted.

Only for expenditures cover pools:

You can determine whether FM account assignments are assigned to the cover pool for the payment budget and/or the commitment budget. Your entry will appear as a default value when you are assigning FM account assignments, however, if necessary, you can change it for each FM account assignment.

To group together individual FM account assignments that are part of the expenditures cover pool for priority checking by the active availability control, you assign a characteristic group to the cover pool, then assign grouping characteristics to the FM account assignments in the cover pool. For more information on this function, see Grouping FM Account Assignments .

Choose Assign FM Account Assignment .

Enter all the FM account assignments that you want to include in the cover pool.

It may be that transfers and cross-assignments have been saved in the system for one of the FM account assignments that you want to assign to the cover pool. This is the case when an FM account assignment was previously part of revenues increasing the budget and the rule was consequently deleted. As a result, it may be that a completely new revenues cover pool shows a budget deficit.

Only for expenditures cover pools:

If you want to group together several FM account assignments for a priority check by the active availability control within the cover pool, you must assign the same group characteristic to them.
