Governing Catalog Assets
Users with a catalog administrator role can set up governance for assets using hierarchical tags and business glossaries, create KPIs to measure progress towards company goals, and publish assets, glossary terms, and KPIs to the catalog.
Catalog assets are created by extracting metadata from the underlying data or analytic objects in your connected source systems. This brings a lot of useful information into the catalog about an asset that can help users understand what they are looking at. But often the information lacks the polish and consistency needed for a usable experience. Names of source system assets may be too technical in nature for business users, or not aligned with standard business language in your organization. Descriptions may not clearly communicate the business value or be outright missing.
You can use the tools on an asset's details page to improve and supplement the information that will curate a better discovery and evaluation experience for your users.
